Thanks, I know I would be no where near close to winning my league, or even making the playoffs, but I´m hoping a couple of the good teams get promoted, not just one, so that the league is more competitive next year.

Actually Eminence I don't think you have to make it to the finals to promote.. take IV.9 in Season 10: http://www.buzzerbeater.com/league/30/overview.aspx?Seaso... Rusty Tromboner won the league title but Chicken Hawks also in the same conference as he was in was 22-0 so promoted, Red Storm the other finals team did not promote.

Ooops, my mistake, there is something like you have to win your conference though isn't there? Perhaps it is regular season.

Well if you went 21-1 and the other went 21-1 in your conference but had better PD, then MAYBE both teams promote. There is a far better chance of this happening when promoting from D5 to D4 though.

You're right. Not sure if you outright need to win your conference during the regular season to qualify for bot promotion, but at the least regular season conference winners are up for bot promotion before teams not winning their conference, even if non-winners have a better record than the winning team on the other side.

http://www.buzzerbeater.com/league/432/overview.aspx?Seas...

First place team in the Great 8 bot promotes, second place team in the Big 8 does not, even though the second place team had a better regular season record.

edit: to clarify that it's regular season conference winners that matter, not making the playoff finals

I see, well I think I've got a conference title all but locked up:). And 21-1 with a good PD is usually enough to do it.

My league (III.3) may possibly have up to 6 relegations, so some of you deserving IV teams will be promoting ^_^

It will probably be 5. 2 automatic. 2 from the relegation series (1 being rice eaters as i think they fall far enough). 1 from bot cleanup (TT). Still ample opportunity for great regular season D5 teams that got beat by a fluke in the playoffs.

The only teams who deserve promotion are the league champions. Any other promotions are a gift.

It might not be fair being stuck in a tough league, but it seems to make you a better BB player. Look at some of the teams who promote out of these tough leagues. They end up promoting to II right away because of how strong they are.

But that's not the point. The intended way to promotion is winning the league championship. The fact that there is cleanup due to turnover is necessary, but not a given.

Everyone wants to promote. I see threads where people ask if they will be able to promote based on record. All that hope in the cleanup is misplaced. At some cutoff line, the almost made it team will miss promotion, and say, I deserved to promote!
It's a false sense of entitlement. If you looked at the last team in and the first team out, would the one who promoted really be that much better than the one that didn't?
