yes, I thought you were a bit more quieter this year...

Only having one team promoted each season makes it extremely competitive, maybe it should be the winner from each group

2 promotions per league would be good!
DFBS needs to build up their defense if they want to be competitive this season. Losing the first 2 games at the beginning of the season wasn't a good start for DFBS, especially losing a rival match.

Still active......although I'm ditching this season, this league should be a division 1 league cuz it's damn tough.

I'm selling all my players, there's about 10 hours left on all auctions, all but one player has bids, so if you've a need ur looking to fill, check out my squad. Perhaps you'll see the player who will be the missing piece for your team. All players listed cheaper than market value.

Goodluck everyone!

I didn't expect my crappy PF to produce 28 pts so I had to release a press about it. I am glad you liked it. :p
It seems i have many enemies so u'll have to get in line. I am sure Vis Maior is infront of the line since season 10 lol.

I guess this league is tough but isn't as tough as div 2 where u have a much more experienced players.
team rebuilding is good but d4 weekly income is much less.

Sorry about the late reply fellaz, only checked the forum just now.....

Yep, am happy with the prices I got for most of my players. Khanum I was really suprised with, seem people really want decent rookie SFs. The one transaction I was disappointed in was Ravasio though, lost near a mil in a few weeks on that player, seems I overvalued him initially.

True, division 2 I expect would be tougher, but I would expect that, not to mention it'd be easier to buy more competitive players with increased income? What I initially meant is that it's evident our conference is over-stacked with the better teams in this league (no offense to the other division). The top 5-6 teams in our league are in one conference and it's been that way for a little while now.....If my team was on the other side then I'd have no problem making the playoffs every season, but as it stands my team is/was over-matched in a situation where I'm guess-timating in most other 3rd divisions my team (with it's old players before the rebuild) would have been at least competitive. It's a little frustrating.....it goes to show the quality of the GMs of these 6 teams. Hell it makes for interesting viewing whenever you guys play each other :)

Anyways. I've rebuilt my team with youngsters who can grow while reducing salary. Was considering at one stage to just buy 2 stars-in-the-making but then the question is,"would 2 stars be able to carry a team full of scrubs?". When looking at the Melbourne Sharks team the build is similar to that (in my opinion only, hope ya don't take offense to that mate), what would have been my biggest concern is supporting the salary cost in a season or 2 of those studs (how does your team stay afloat financially mate? Just curious as my total salary was $60 000 less per week yet my team was going broke fast before the rebuild).I thought it better to have one stud and to build a decent team who can grow around that player, so that's the path I chose for the Hellfire. The best thing about this situation is I'm not fazed if my team wins or loses now, it's about making profit and building my players.

Goodluck everyone, we're nearing the halfway mark of the season, still a long way to go though :)

While we're saying our conference is tough, the other side is filling up with potentially good players and showing big improvements in their games.... yep, you know who you are! I am watching you!!! hehe.

"would 2 stars be able to carry a team full of scrubs?"

my simple answer (i had to simplify it since previous version revealed too much)

first of all, I don't think MS is that active or he is just a "NT player" farmer if you know what I mean.
second, I think 2 stars can carry the team if they are accompanied with players that fulfill their "supporting" roles regardless of their salary.

1 question, are you trying to steal a good draft and run off to div4?

Yeah I understand what you are saying mate. And you're right, the other side of our division is getting better each season, sincerely meant no disrespect to any GM on the 'other side' with my previous comment.

If MS is a NT farmer, then he/she is damned good at the job :)

Hmm that was my dilemma, if I had bought a 2nd star, then the quality of players I could have put around them would have been lack-luster at best. After landing my gun SG, I had my eye on a few different Centres who were around the 2 000 000 - 2 500 000 dollar mark.....all would have been very productive and had MVP+ potential, which in a season or 2 could have been counter-productive if their salary had risen a lot in the off-season. It was a tough choice, but I'm relatively happy with the outcome. As opposed to the start of the season, my team now has a much lower total salary, much higher overall potential and imo a better star player. All the squad needs is a bona-fide SF and things would be perfect, maybe I'll get lucky in the draft again :)

In relation to your question, well it really depends now, whatever happens with my team happens. I have no real aim other than to just save up as well as train my players and improve the squad over time (especially the starting 5).

If it so happens my team does get demoted, then yep I plan to steal a great draft pick or 3 and hit one of the leagues in division 4 with a dominance that'll not be easily forgotten :P If not then I'll be more than happy to remain cannon fodder to the majority of teams in our league all the while making a good profit week-to-week and developing a fairly young team ;)

Wish ya the best of luck this season mate :)
