Singapore - Team Pilipinas was too much for Macau, as Coach Morwood's boys played four flawless quarters to ensure top spot in group B. The final score was 132-55. Macau's big men were reduced to midgets as Santino Libre and Emil Serafin Balatbat were having their way from inside the box and the perimeter. Montenejo showed the way with a game high nine assists. Perhaps the most under rated point guard in U21 history, scouts are still trying to determine how to stop him. He put on a passing clinic throwing the ball between the legs of two defenders for a two handed slam by Balatbat late in the second quarter.
Coach Morwood was elated with the victory but he was peeved that some members of Team Pilipinas were not in shape. The reduced playing time of some players should send a strong message to managers to not overplay the minutes of their U21 stars. Pressed to comment, Coach Morwood had this to say, "The game was a blow out because their game shape was awful. We were expecting the victory but not in this fashion. It could easily have been a closer game. It is what it is."
Meanwhile, the All In manager was reportedly trying to negotiate a contract at court side with Manny Pacquiao to be its playing coach for the remainder of the season.
