Fishbowl Season Five Final Results

West

Black Label Society vs. Whitebeard 89 - 101

It was the Cup winner taking on the team on top of the ABBL in what could be a preview of the ABBL final (if Dire still has a team) BLS took an early lead but WB steadied and pounded the ball inside to their big men not only got them a lot of good shots and a huge assist lead of 27-13 but also frequent trips to the free throw line. There were actually 71 free throws taken in this match I wouldn't have wanted to be a fan.

MVP: Kari Görner (Earning his fairly hefty $341,000 pricetag).

Team: Sharks

East

Chelsea Seagulls vs. Billy Hoyles Boys 91 - 79

Don't let the final score fool you this was a nail biter and a massive upset. BHB is clearly the best team but has been decimated by injuries this season and while most are finally back they are not yet in decent GS while the Seagulls were mostly fine and were bolstered by the late arrival of their own massive playoffs recruit $160,000 Juan Carlos Gamboa. Mikey Bergman the 375th best player in the entire world did what he could but on the night it was the Seagull swingmen Rober, Mu and Oliver that sealed the deal with their keen shooting.

MVP: Rober Forbes

Team: Calamari

South

All-Sorts vs. Possum Chasers 108 - 122

Possum Pete has a division II standard team battling in division III and showed it here by taking down the division II All-Sorts. When you think of the Chasers you think of pounding it inside to TT, but with two $100,000 guards now they have evolved into a run and gun team who the Sorts just couldn't contain especially as they were manhandled on the boards.

MVP: Efe Utku Yurdatap

Team: Calamari

North

Viral Infections vs. Persepolis Immortals 85 - 64

After so many seasons of tanking Naker's happy band of pensioners have finally lived up to their promise. With stifiling defence the Immortals shot a distinctly mortal 22/90. The Big Salami was teriffic hitting 13/19 but the rest of the team was a combined 9/71, yes that is right, the Salimi hit more baskets than the rest of the team combined with the other starters going for 3/30, 3/14, 1/15 and 1/15. They just spent $800,000 on a new SG Federico Cleriguet who hits 2/20 - awesome!

MVP: Sidónio Conceição

Team: Calamari

So that brings season five to a close. I will have some awards to give out but the main thing everyone needs to do is get their supporter up to date. Great season everyone, thanks for being a part of The Fishbowl.
