You got me there. The frustration of failing to help you see common sense must have got me confused...


Why do you say things like that when you keep repeating this.

Increasing the salary floor would (again) affect everyone equally.


I have explained my reasoning why this is untrue and why teams who make less money would be more affected. I'd appreciate it if you addressed my response instead of completely ignoring it and simply repeating the same thing over and over again.

I'll explain it again, for teams with comparable salaries (ie at the salary floor), raising the salary floor would have the greatest effect on the teams which make the least money. Saying that all teams would be affected equally is like saying governments should implement a flat income tax of $20k because it will affect everyone equally. Taking from everyone equally does not mean everyone is affected equally.

I haven't ignored your responses. I'm repeating myselp because you are ignoring the facts in my responses.

I'll explain it again, for teams with comparable salaries (ie at the salary floor), raising the salary floor would have the greatest effect on the teams which make the least money.


If you are spending the floor, you should make at least, if not more than, the weekly income than everyone else in your league. You spend about 3 times more than you should on staff and salaries. This is why you make the least amount of money...

Saying that all teams would be affected equally is like saying governments should implement a flat income tax of $20k because it will affect everyone equally.

Higher divisions pay a higher percentage of their tv revenue as their salary floor. Its explained in the game manual. If you think that lower divisions pay the exact same dollar value as the top divisions, you don't understand a thing about the subject that you are trying to argue.

Yes, this is true and it is also a good thing for the game. If teams at the floor weren't able to make more money than everyone else in the league, then they would have a very difficult time catching up to those teams above them unless they already had a lot of money saved up.

All my arguments and posts about salary floor having a greater impact on teams who make less money are based on teams in the same league. Sorry, maybe I should have made myself more clear.

Well, the reason I have a high level trainer is that I want to develop my players so that they can be the cornerstones at my team in all divisions. I don't want to spend many seasons training players only to have to sell them in div 2 because they aren't good enough any more. Yes, you can say its not a very money efficient strategy, but I'm fine with playing the long-term game.

and you have a lvl 7 trainer? As I stated above, you would be able to build players to be "the cornerstones of your team" with a lvl 5 coach. You'd probably just have to cut the salary now, save up a bit of money and get a lvl 5 coach with a salary around 20k. You could keep him for about 3-4 seasons and still have less to pay than you do now for the staff...

I agree with this proposal. There, now I said it, so it's doomed to fail.

I think Perriwinkle definitely wins the most patient BB manager of the season.


Not sure if that was sarcasm directed at me or not, but thanks for bringing it back on topic, and i apologize to everyone for my part in derailing it.

The reason I agree with this proposal is that the hoarding tax won't stop inflation as it doesn't change the amount of revenue teams have access to. It is quite easy to generate millions each season (even in the lower leagues), so it's just a matter of investing your money before you pay the tax. I think the hoarding tax should happen to stop longterm inactives, I just believe the increase in salary floor would be a more effective tool to eliminate inflation.

Your weekly profit is all your income minus you expenses. And your expenses include your staff's salaries - cut them around the leagues's average and with players salaries around the floor you'll be able to make profit more than everyone playing competitive.


I'll explain myself a little better. When I said that lower ranked teams in a division should be able to make more money than higher ranked teams, I didn't mean that I should be making more money than the rest of the league. With the amount I'm spending on training and scouting, I don't expect to make that much money and I'm fine with that. What I meant is that it should be possible, which for me it is, for lower seeded teams to make more than those above them so that they could catch up to higher ranked teams. But the problem with raising the salary too much is that it may make it impossible for lower teams to make more money which could give the higher ranked teams a permanent advantage.
