I feel like a few of those are actual things that were lost in translation to Asia or something.

The implementation of Utopia has changed people's perspectives on oldies. It should be obvious that the market value for old players is simply too low most of the time in comparison to young players.

what if we had a draft option to draft our grandfathers, ex-presidents, or members of the Chinese politburo instead of another faceless, talentless 19 year old?

has there been any discussion of changing the GE so that these increasingly decrepit players may eventually awaken to eternal life, check into the Motel Deep 6, ring down the curtain and join the choir invisible, or otherwise experience the fate from which there is no escape?

I'd draft my grandpa. He could build me a really good arena...he'd be layin' bricks not throwin' them.

Law - just read the thread Small Forward - the quest for the perfect player. One of the better threads in a long time. You really managed that thread and got some great intel within but the true genius was mixing in the comic relief of Glass. That and my French pressed coffee have totally made my morning. You're a stud.

Thanks for the compliment! Glass just loves to throw his two cents in...so much speed training.

I was looking to validate my reasoning, but anyway it seems like a good study. I mean look at Silverbacks has just sold Ferruccio Trevelin for $ 4 000 000.

These guys are highly valuable. The problem is you have to wrap up a ton of cash in them. Either through internally training them or buying them trained.

Heck, Silverbacks had to sit on 4M cash for three seasons while training the guy. Not exactly ideal IMO. Not terrible but I guess when you have the cash and nothing else to spend on...which I believe is important to think about going forward. There are a lot more rich teams then there were each season. I just believe most teams after building their stadium will generate cash most of the time. Therefore we will probably see inflation the next few seasons.

But anyway everyone I have bid on lately I have run into someone else that wanted them equally as much--especially in the PF/SF realm. I might just have to go all "Lethargic" and buy some cheap assets. We'll see.

It was a fun thread. I have tried to cut back on engaging with Mr. Glass because he patently refuses to learn from anyone's advice and he's such a special kind of wrong that it is painful to watch at times.

I kind of think that the way to go is to build the players that are unique and expensive and then try to treat the other positions as ones where you can go out and buy guys that are more common builds. I still haven't really ever trained a really good SF, though, and it might not be feasible to do so at this point, but I suppose maybe that's my goal for the next few seasons.

I keep saying this too, but it's hard to get those trainees as well.

It does cost a lot of money for sure. It's why I settled for two superstar potential trainees on a budget. They will always be great values for what I paid for them but as their TSP climbs I stress more and more that I won't have the space to finish them off the way I wanted too. My next trainee I add will be MVP or better. I feel these two in Alasi and Thomas are going to fall just short of what I would really like. Of course I paid 150k for one and I think 400k for the other. Certainly couldn't get either two off the TL for anywhere near that.

Well the news is in...

What a fantastic game between yuck/clogs. Too bad the ending was sort of melodramatic. It turned out the Yuck had a superior inside attack and I was once again wrong in my predictions.

Well done Yuck making the finals! Congrats to GS as well! Sorry Clogs but as they say, there is always next season...and utopia.

GL to smallfries, nome white owls, tictac and clerics in Div III. May you all get good draft picks to help you out next season.

Now to see who will make it to the NBBA!

The early indication would point to the Yuck's as having the better team and they are playing 2 of 3 at home. However, GS has two stout interior players to deal with.

Well, they have to play the games, but as much respect as I have for what Redemption's accomplished, Yuck's got the superior team right now, plus HCA. I'm just glad I got beat cleanly enough that there's no doubt that me missing Namo didn't matter to cast a shadow over what Yuck accomplished. It was an expensive season of experimentation and teambuilding but when it came down to winning time, Yuck had found the right pieces to the puzzle while I was done in yet again with a player who I've known for a while isn't getting the job done but didn't replace.

Congrats to Yuck! You seem to be great at causing upsets in the playoffs ;)

Wow, another season of churn for the Big 8. It's quite possible that the Great 8 will only see one team leave them this season.
