I was saying according to what you believe Lebron going 0-8 and Wade 12-18 is better then having Lebron 1-17 and Wade 5-9


I have no response to an entire team keeping every player to 0-8 vs an entire team keeping every player to 1-17 because I'm gonna stick to the topic of what this argument is about, the MVP voting and a if a single player kept someone to 1-17 or 0-8... What you are suggesting is not realistic so therefor not relevant. The fact of the matter is in the game in question that started this argument not every player shot like ass and by your theory it was much better to let the player who was shooting like ass to stop shooting and let the guys who were shooting ok have more shots which = more points against which = worse off which = watermelons are yummier then grapes

I've had my fair share of beers tonight but to me it seems you have had your ass handed to you on a platter by multiple people and are clutching at straws with these points that have no bearing on what could actually happen in a basketball game or the initial argument.

If your extrapolation were to be vaild. You'd need to have the same sample size when extrapolating.
Meaning Team A has 85 possessions and Team B has 85 possessions.
If not it just makes all your reasoning silly.

My girlfriend major in Mathematics and Chemistry, both are useless degrees.

Point is, I get all this maths shit. But you don't understand basketball.

Nobody gives a damn that there are infinate numbers between 1 and 3. We only give a shit about the 24 second shot clock and getting a basket before a shot clock violation. That is a possession.

Game engine or not, probabilty and algorithms and chance (dice roll) aside, 1-17 is better than 0-8, regardless of the number of infinate possibilities the game engine can pull out of it's ass.

Simply because 16 stops is better than 8, even if on the 17th attempt, a field goal is scored.

There is no doubt, at all.

If you still don't want to admit that stopping 16 shots is better than 8, just because the guy who stopped 16 allowed one field goal, then I don't know what to say.

Now take your maths, shove it somewhere else, and talk to me about basket-fricking-ball.

Like someone else mentioned, the MVP votes are awarded on the basis that it represents a real basketball game. Maths is therefore irrelevant.

Actually, I have a mathematical equation for you: 1-17 > 0-8. Enough said.

As for lawyers falsifying sheets etc I know nothing of it so can't really comment.
Electricians charge by time I believe.
All employmers of businesses are paid per hour.

Well Wade scores 24 points at least and Lebron scores 0. Or Lebron scores 2 and Wade scores 10.
Obviously the first is better if you are the offensive, and the second is better if you are the defensive.
Are you disagreeing with that?

Well if it is better for a player to keep the opponent to 1-17 rather than 0-8, then you should want every player on your team to do that. So it is relevant, because if every player on the team did this then 0-8 is better than 1-17. Does that make sense?

lol I mean that any employee of a retail outlet, or is a receptionist or waitress etc are all paid by the hour ;)

defense is not just about contesting shots, a player can also prevent his opponent from receiving the ball aswell.

Ahhh, ok. Well, only casual/permanent-part timers. If you're on a salary, then you're not paid by the hour, so managers etc of those places aren't. Plus, they're there for a set time - for example, a shift is 8 hours. Then they go home. Lawyers set their own hours, then send a bill, and the client gets a frightful shock.

Ha, this all built from me jokingly saying that you should escape. Basically, I think our system needs massive reform, but we need good people to get into the system to do that. It's only going to change if we change it from the inside. So, I implore you, when you get in, be totally clear and honest. Don't sacrifice your principles to please your file principals. There are too few lawyers who try to do the right thing, and we need to change that :)
