1 game to go and we have our 8 outcast postseason teams. who will play who is the main question for this round? Thunder to play fellow kevin the wombats (wonder if there will be the same tanking situation as last time). the first few games are formalities, but the possible matchups between the heated hobos and mages, and the crockers and slammers will be the best of the picks.

The vipers look to be duck-egged on the season unless his new acqustion can stabilise the managers quite controversial week.

Will the wombats be able to hold on to the top spot in a battle of the big boys? you will have to wait and see on friday

Is it easier to understand like that?

yay finally got it all on the page

So we have our final standings and it is official that Lewisham Wombats are the minor premiers. I think congratulations are in order, well done Mllama.

Once again this week all 5 games were pretty much blowouts, leaving the standings the same. The only real suprise to the season was the finishing position of the no. #10 pick out of Adelaide the Hobos claiming 3rd on the standings and clinching a nailbiting first round matchup with the firey VictoriaMages. The last time these to teams met it was a hotly contested game with the Hobos prevailing 94-90. Can the sequel be as good as the original? West Coast vs Sydney?

The other enthralling matchup of round one of the playoffs is the CROCKERS vs Northcote Slammers bout between the closely contested teams. The previous game between the two teams finished in a commanding Slammers win 118-96... can it be that easy this time?

The third of the matches will be between Bainsynators Plebs and Cumunga. This looks to be elementary for the watermelons who hold a far superior record and roster then the Plebs. Expect the Plebs to be sent back to their shanties. The last meeting between the teams was as you would expect, 67-95 for Chumunga. More of the same to follow you would expect.

The last game involves the dominant Lewisham Wombats and the minnows Brisbane Thunder. An all Kevin match last time resulted in a fixed match however history is unlikely to repeat itself. Wombats in a canter. last meeting Thunder won 97-85, wont happen again though.

Outcasts Playoffs

   Elite Eight

1. Lewisham Wombats 105
8. Brisbane Thunder 48

5. CROCKERS 124
4. Northcote Slammers 94

3. Hobos 103
6. VictoriaMages 95

7. Bainsynators Plebs 52
2. Chumunga 101

The Wombats did as where expected and burrowed through the thunder defense with ath highlight being a 20-20 performance from Aggie with 21 points and 23 rebounds. Seeing as the match was over at the half the wombats bench got a valuable opportunity to gain some fishbowl postseason basketball. Anfu was the only shining light for the thunder as he has been all season with 17 points and 15 rebounds. The Wombats will have harder challenges to come that is for sure.

CROCKERS vs Northcote Slammers promised so much and delivered so little as a contest. Another match all done at the half. Five CROCKERS players hit the 20 point mark which just highlights the ball movement and the contribution of all the players on the team. Despite the injury to Boccaccio early in the second the CROCKERS outfit bullied their way to the line 21 more times than the Slammers. The other crucial factor was the extremely 3pt shooting performance by the Slammers, converting on only 6 of their 32 attempts from behind the arc. The CROCKERS will go on to meet the Wombats in the Semis.

This was the most exciting of the 1/4 finals with the sequel being almost as good as the original. Mages led early behind the brilliant offensive play of Michelangelo Forato who ended up with a game high 39 points, showing exactly why this week he has been voted into the Outcasts all-star teams starting lineup. It came right down to the last where the Hobos prevailed once again on the back of outstanding play from Vittorio Leone and Jorge Iracusta both posting points and rebound double doubles and being efficient from the field.

Second seeded Chumunga routed the Plebs in what was basically over by the 1st for the Plebs. The margin fortunately stayed within the magical 50 points which gives me some joy in what was a massacre of a 1st quater. Although the 27-8 scoreline is an improvement from the league III.12 PO match which was a 38-5 quater. It appears to be a serious problem in the postseasons for the plebs that they can actually get out of the blocks. Vilippone was magnificent on the night with 25 points off 11-12 shooting 17 rebounds 7 assits 4 blocks and a steal. If they perform like they did next round the Hobos will be up against it, but it promises to be a blockbuster.

Stay poised ladies and gentlemen... the outcasts are coming to a close
