Sorry about the delay on the write-up. We've done great so far, which is amazing because of the discrepancy in game shape.. Now I'm not blaming anyone, because win or lose it is my job to get the best out of what I have to work with, but it would sure be nice if we can have more consistency. WE lack depth in the program, so to have big men who have good game shape one week and soso game shape the next, really hurts. WE have the possibility to surprise this year, but with no stallions in the near stable future, we need to do our best now.

again, make no mistake, it is amazing that I'm being given the chance here and I'm doing every thing I can, but if we are to succeed, we need the old warhorses like Madiar, Aaron, Cockayne, Burimenko, etc. to have 8-9 game shape every week. Some of you have gone above and beyond. But we need all hands on deck. This week we have drawn Argentina, and at the moment they should be seen as the favourite... let's show them otherwise.

Thanks for the support, and now that that is out of the way, let's kick butt the rest of the season!

Now to what I need to improve on... more scouting and conversations will be coming soon.. I have spent so much time scouting and settings lineups, my next task that I need to improve on, is continuing to send more plans to people to say what we need in the future, to avoid the situation we are in now for the future coaches.

Let's giv'em hell !!

MC

A nice start against a good team.. WE guessed GDP correctly on inside and wrong on pace but it seems to have helped a bit.. Old war horse Burimenko has surprised so far with a great first quarter.. much needed... 8 points and 5 rebounds. Just imagine how amazing he'd be with 9 game shape(and his buddy Madiar too!!)

Let's keep it up...it's nice to be in competitive games finally!

Hall still hasn't hit a shot.. Pequeno is amazing! If only Hall could atleast force fouls! Burimenko is picking up the scoring slack still.

Can't dismiss the fight in our team.. lost our game high scorer, were down 10 points, but finished strong!! 66-61 for Argentina with one quarter to go! Hall is starting to do more.

Our 3pt shooting really let us down tonight... if we hit 6 more 3’s that’s 18 more points and leaving our 3pt % to 39% which is pretty good... We played better then I thought we would, to bad Buriemko got hurt...

3rd/2nd place is on the line today when we play a plucky Barbados team. If they win they will be 3-2! Come out and watch the game at 5. Please join me in the chat room.

Will we recover from last week's loss? The Brasil-Argentina game will be a good one to tune into as well! Thanks for godo game shape this week !

The Calm Before the Storm

Canada 102 Barbados 75 (44706)

It was a nice tune-up game for us before battening down the hatches for the host Brasilian team. Barbados was nice to us by guessing gdp wrong twice. WE will have to continue next week to do something to catch the Brasilians off guard as well.

Although we went inside, it was a full team effort. We are still missing first half season mvp Koszakov. If only someone could shake life into his manager to get his conditioning back up. WE need a hero !(cue the 1980s music). The big men didn't really have to over-exert themselves. Hall and Cockayne only took 19 shots combined, scoring 13 of them. It was nice to have old man Madiar back contributing after some time off in rehab!

The second quarter was our friend. The rest of the game we were way too close. Decent rebounding, passing and shooting from downtown. WE need more. We have yet to see how we can do when most of the team bigs and smalls are at full strength.. So let's make it happen .

Thanks for a good game shape week..I know it's all star week, but we need all the game shape help we can muster.. we play the host team who are great...

Top PLayers of Week:

1)Stephen Hall - 17 pts, 11 rebs, 4 assists (3 points)

2)Alex Cockayne - 14 pts and 9 rebounds (2 points)

3)Pavliuk - +25 rating (1 point)

Holy hell (pardon my language, but I was caught off guard)!!

Besides the foreigner who screwed Cockayne's game shape royally, amazing job training the game shape.. I had to do a double take... make no mistake, it's gonna be a tough and hopefully good game against a host team who gets home court and lacks many weaknesses. But thanks so much. Atleast you all are giving me and Canada Nt a fantastic chance to compete this week.

Thanks again, it was a long day and a nice surprise to see.

A very happy and appreciative NT Coach!!
