Fishbowl North Season 5 MVPs Week 9 Part 3

Warren Bulls vs Shepparton Shooters 78 – 117

The Shooters needed to win this game to hold onto Outright 2nd and stay in touch with the all-conquering Immortals. At the other end of the ladder, the Bulls were searching for just their 2nd win of the season. The Shooters had been to the blacksmiths during the week and came out with red hot irons, and branded the bulls early. The Bulls tried to Buck their way back into it, but the damage had already been done.

3 Junel Viojan Shepparton Shooters – Viojan had his way with the bulls out there, and led the Bulls by the Horn for the full 48 minutes. Not only was Viojan scoring at will for his 32 points, but he even found the time to dish out 6 assists to his team mates. Backing up with 20 boards, 6 of them at the offensive end of the court.

2 Adrián Ahuir Shepparton Shooters – Double A came to the arena tonight fully charged. He energized his team mates with 15 dimes, and was ever-ready to shoot when the situation arose, scoring 28 points on 12-20 shooting. AA was electrifying tonight, and lit the Blue Piggy Bank arena up.

1 Joey Anderson Shepparton Shooters – Anderson was a key part in a perfectly functioning Shepparton Shooters machine. He shot at a decent clip from the field, but his 11 boards and 2 steals separated him from the rest of the vote chasers.

Quinn Kings vs Coin Collectors 117 – 121

The Coin Collectors were desperately searching for their first win of the season, and the Kings were hoping a for a royal performance to notch up their 2nd. The Kings were looking to beat down the Collectors with a high pace game at both ends of the floor, a tactic that ultimately led to their downfall, as they ran out of steam in the 4th. As the Kings ran out of puff, the well paced Collectors were there to capitalize, and take a hard fought victory.

3 Siarhey Usik Coin Collectors – In his 48 minutes, Usik was sensational for the Collectors. Leading all scores with 29 points, Usik also dished out 8 assists and muscled his way to 5 rebounds. This game was a true shoot-out, and Usik won the battle of the SG's.

2 Pablo Ramírez Quinn Kings – Ramirez had a great game for the Kings, and possibly could have helped the Kings to victory if he could have gotten a few more minutes out of his body. His 6 offensive boards were key to creating 2nd scoring opportunities for the Kings.

1 Joaquín Antuñán Coin Collectors – Joaquin controlled the pace of the game for the Collectors, and was able to break down the Kings full court press, dishing out 6 assists to go along with his 24 points.

Fishbowl North Season 5 MVPs Week 10 Part 1

Hobos vs Quinn Kings – 86 - 98

The Hobos started the season off strong, but came into this 1 on the back of a 4 game losing streak. The Kings have struggled all season, but there have been signs of improvement as the season has progressed. Both teams looked to their big men to get the job done, but in the end the Kings had to much fire power, and muscled their way to a 10 point win, their 2nd of the season

3 Arsenije Stamenković – Quinn Kings– Stamenkovic had 1 of those games, where every time he went near the ball something good happened for the Kings. He shot 9-15 from the field on the way to 23 points, and went even better on the boards with 24, 7 on the offensive end. He was solid on the defensive end, with a couple of steals and limiting his oppositions offensive production

2 Billy Siffredi -Quinn Kings- Billy also played the full 48 minutes and led the team like a true floor general. He backed up his 15 points with 8 assists, 5 boards and shut down his opponent on the defensive end, allowing his opponent to hit 2-7 from the field

1 Artur Barroso – Quinn Kings – Some would argue that a Hobo would deserve the final vote in a close game, but their woeful shooting probably cost them the vote. On the other hand, Barroso was dominant from the pine. In just 17 minutes of action, he helped himself to 22 points on 9-14 shooting, far exceeding what any team expects from a bench player.

TeamAkuma vs Maggots – 79 – 91

Coming into this 1 the Maggots were trying to break a 2 game losing streak, whilst TeamAkuma were looking to build on their victory from the previous week, and push for a .500 + record at the end of the season. The game almost looked over at half time with the Maggots working to a 19 point lead, but by the time Pavon fouled out in the 46th minute, TeamAkuma had staged a miraculous 2nd half turn around to take the 12 point win.

3 Chen Huilong - TeamAkuma – The big turnaround in the 2nd half was orchestrated by Huilong. He was everywhere and inspired his team to lift around him. He scored at a solid clip for his 20 points, including 4-5 from downtown, dished out 5 assists to his team mates, and broke down the Maggots offense with 5 steals.

2 Mark Booth - TeamAkuma – Booth probably had 1 of the toughest jobs on the court, holding the rampaging Brakenhoff in check, and did it with style. Booth helped himself to 16 points and 7 boards, but it was his lock down defense that earned him the 2 votes.

1 Christian Brakenhoff – The Hoff was all over the court, and normally you would think a 39 and 15 night would secure maximum votes. However, the Hoffster probably tried to do to much on his own, and while his stat line is impressive, his 16-42 shooting showed he had one of those nights where maybe passing was the better option.

Fishbowl North Season 5 MVPs Week 10 Part 2

Skyhook Dreamers vs Brisbane Thunder – 86- 96

A regular grudge match.. Not just 2 teams fighting it out on the court, but the whole of divisions 3.12 and 3.6 fighting for bragging rights. After a recent inter league challenge locked at 3-3, this would split the deadlock. Both teams looked to their big men to get the job done, but the Chan-less Dreamers defense played right into the hands of the Faka-less Thunder. The Thunder took the early lead, and led the charge for the interdivisional bragging rights.

3 Cristiano Semoni Brisbane Thunder – The Thunders game plan was obvious for all to see, get the ball to Semoni, and he did the job inside. Semoni hit 22 points on the back of 8-15 shooting, helped himself to 12 boards and broke up the Dreamers inside game with a couple of steals. A solid all round performance from “the Fro”

2 Konrad Falba Skyhook Dreamers – Falba won the battle of the boards, bringing down 15 for the night, and led the dreamers scoring with 20 points. He was unselfish with the ball, also finding the time to deal out 5 dimes to his team mates.

1 Ng Ting Yu Brisbane Thunder – Ng helped himself to a double double on the night with 16 points and 10 boards in his 38 minutes. A number of Thunder players could have put there hands up for this vote, but it was Ting Yu's high % shooting that separated him from his team mates.

Persepolis Immortals vs Viral Infections – 83 – 105

Billed as the game of the season for the Fishbowl North, saw the undefeated Immortals take on the all conquering Viral Infections. Seen as a possible grand final match up, both teams wanted the win in this 1 to secure the mental edge going into the finals. It was a classic inside vs outside game, but the all-round play of Viral Infections gradually wore down The Immortals, proving to all that if it bleeds, you can kill it.

3 César Serre Viral Infections – Serre is 2nd behind his team mate in ppg for the Fishbowl North this season, and put on a clinic for those in attendance. He scored at will, helping himself to 39 points on 12-23 shooting. The Immortals simply had no way of stopping the free-scoring Serre, and simply had to watch in awe as he went about his business.

2 Yuri Abruzzese Viral Infections – League leading scorer Abruzzese wasnt about to let Serre have all the fun and possibly steal his scoring title, also having a hot night from the field on his way to 26 points. Yuri not only led his team on the offensive end, but stifled his opponent Papkevich, keeping him to just 5-25 from the field in a fine defensive display.

1 Pashang Salimi Persepolis Immortals – As usal, Salimi was the best of the Immortals, but his best tonight just was not good enough against the outside game of VI. He muscled his way to 23 points and 12 rebounds, whilst also limiting his direct opponents opportunities. He tried his heart out for the Immortals, but fouled out after 40 mins of game time.

Fishbowl North Season 5 MVPs Week 10 Part 3

Geelong Vipers vs Shepparton Shooters – 78 – 64

Two teams fighting it out at the pointy end of the league, in a game that could have big ramifications in the playoff race. Both teams were desparate for the win to keep their playoff chances alive. The game would prove to be a demonstration of defense with neither team able to shoot above .400 for the night. It was a tight, tough contest all game, with the Vipers eventually running out 14 point winners.. Had the Shooters been able to convert from the charity stripe, it could have been a much different contest.

3 Ace Dispo Geelong Vipers – Ace lived up to his name tonight in a dominant performance. He combined his 22 points(10-16) with 18 boards (6 offensive) and caused havoc in the paint at the other end with 3 steals and always getting a hand in to disrupt his opponents shot. Ace was simply in the zone for this 1.

2 François Cartier Geelong Vipers – In his 43 minutes, Cartier had a hand in everything. He helped himself to 19 points on the back of 9-14 shooting, rebounded the rock 7 times and dealt out 4 assists. On the defensive end, he was a fly in the ointment for the Shooters, forcing Anderson into taking bad shots (7-21) and broke his confidence forcing 5 turnovers from the Shooters swing man.

1 Junel Viojan Shepparton Shooters – Viojan was not happy to sit back and watch Ace, but did what he could to help his team get the W. The Big V led the game in scoring with 25 points, combined with 18 rebounds as well as 3 assists and 4 blocks. Almost good enough for the 2 votes, but he let Dispo score at will, and his team needed better than his 8-21 from the field if they were to win.

Warren Bulls vs Coin Collectors 89 – 122

Most would have expected with 2 teams fighting to avoid the bottom spot in the league, there would have been a tense all out battle in this 1. It was not to be as only 3 of the Bulls players bothered to turn up to the game, whilst the other 7 mistook ANZ stadium for Goldfingers. The 3 who made the effort to play put in a valiant effort, but whilst their team mates were busy getting lap dances, the Collectors ran away with this 1.

3 Yiorgos Polichronidis Coin Collectors – It was an 'unlucky fan' who got the job on Yiorgis tonight. The 33 year old had it all his way in this 1, scoring 24 points and bringing in 22 boards.

2 Siarhey Usik Coin Collectors – Usik had a real opponent tonight, but the result was pretty much the same.as Yiorgos. Usik led the scoring for the coin collectors, dished out 7 assists and forced 3 steals on the defensive end. His opponent Kiradi might have had 37 points, but his defensive pressure meant Kiradi had to work hard to score, with a lot of his points coming in garbage time when the game was all over.

1 Porter Viduka Coing Collectors – Whilst Viduka's opponent was busy gawking at 'racks' at Goldfingers, Viduka was busy getting to the rack and scoring.. In 21 mins, Viduka scored 20 points, pulled down 10 boards, and was only 2 assists shy of an impressive triple double. Viduka was lethal in his execution, and showed how to totally dominate a weaker opponent.

Fishbowl North Season 5 Week 11 MVPs

These will be very brief, sorry.

Quinn Kings vs. Warren Bulls 109 - 85

The Kings despite having the best guard in the league decided to look inside and with Billy delivering the ball their bigs didn't let them down against some of the badly out of shape Bulls.

3 Pablo Ramírez Quinn Kings 37 PTS 10 REB. Not only the top scorer by a mile but hit an efficient 13/18.

2 Billy Siffredi Quinn Kings 11 PTS 11 AST 9 REB. Who got the ball to Pabs? Billy! He was just one rebound shy of a triple double.

1 Danny Browne Warren Bulls 22 PTS 10 REB. Draft pick and homegrown star Browne shot well and was the Bulls most effective contributor.

TeamAkuma vs. Brisbane Thunder 87 - 62

Two teams stuck in a holding pattern in the notorious III.6 while Naker and PP battle it out with division II standard rosters battled it out and "The Prodigy" Clinton "President" Abimbola made Leeroy suck his cigar as he and Elvis' grandson dominated this game.

3 Clinton "President" Abimbola TeamAkuma 20 PTS 14.5 rating. Already a star he will soon be one of the best guards in the league and stamped his seal all over this one.

2 Darrell "Elvis" Pressley TeamAkuma 17 PTS 9 REb 14.5 rating. "The Mountain" did everything the President needed to assist him to victory.

1 Cristiano Semoni Brisbane Thunder 24 PTS 16 REB."Fro'lad" was the only player thundering tonight with the next hihest scorer having just 10.

Persepolis Immortals vs. Hobos 91 - 70

This was the big one for MVP points but while the Immortals stamped all over the Hobos it wasn't the Big Salami that did the most damage.

3 Mohammad Gholam Sharif Persepolis Immortals 19 PTS 8/10 FGS. The Immortals backup SF hit from everywhere and with such efficiency he put the game out of the Hobos unwashed reach.

2 Alibek Imandosov Persepolis Immortals 18 PTS 17 REB. Big Ali I from Khazakstan when interviewed about the Hobos defence after the game said, "It was wide open and flapping around like my sister's vagine."

1 Pashang Salimi Persepolis Immortals 18 PTS 12 REB 3 BLK. Just beating Roger due to his poor shooting percentage the Big Salami had the best rating in the game, shot well and was a great defender before fouling out early.

Fishbowl North Season 5 Week 11 MVPs Part 2

Skyhook Dreamers vs. Viral Infections 49 - 105

Chan 1/14. Spank! I will keep this one the way Naker likes it.

3 Alex Brecchia Viral Infections

2 Nikos Fouskotidis Viral Infections

1 Genadiy Burdiyan Viral Infections

Maggots vs. shepparton shooters 83 - 97

The shooters playing without V-Thrush gave the Maggots a chance but in the end had too much depth for the rebuilding Maggots.

3 Paolo Santamaria shepparton shooters 20 PTS 16 REB 5 AST. A fantastic effort but fouling out in the 4th did leave a lucky fan on the court and let the Maggots make the final score a bit more respectable.

2 Benjamin Journet shepparton shooters 26 PTS. The angry Frenchman let everyone have it and did a great job of looking after the team while the big VJ was away injured.

1 Christian Brakenhoff Maggots 26 PTS. Their one star as usual.

Geelong Vipers vs. Coin Collectors 94 - 58

The Vipers had a very balanced attack and were much deeper and more efficient than the Collectors and dominated the boards 60-33.

3 Sam Rosales Geelong Vipers 20 PTS 12 REB 14.5. By far the best rating and the top rebounder.

2 Mauro Demeyere Geelong Vipers 9 PTS 11 REB in 13 minutes. Productive!

1 Ace Dispo Geelong Vipers 19 PTS 7 REB. Got to the line at will.
