The QF is one game at the home of the team with the best record.
The SF is one game at the home of the team with the best record.
The Finals are best of three with a home/away/home (if required) format.

Sorry to say you were knocked out already by the Hardcourt Dunkers and your season is now over. You can still play scrimmages which are a great opportunity to train your young (Indian) players.

GRRRR....stupid day traders :S

From what I can see, there are only few players who may be useful (if trained well, but they're gonna be one year older next season, so who knows). But I suppose we can save those, and hope that some managers, who are willing to train, will pick them up, and not to be ruined by a day trader...

Of those 10 guys there is really only one who I would expect to see back, but who knows. A well trained player who started poorly will always be better than a player who started out great and was trained badly (or not at all). That is why it is so good that at least Singh, will have both.

Yes I saw him on the TL yesterday and was very surprised. However while the JS is stupendous his OD is very bad and I think Firosh is much better overall. Still he would be a great scoring punch off the bench.

If I remember correctly, he was on our season 16 thread in buzzerbeater stats. But we didn't put him in the team cuz like yodabig said, while his JS was better than anybody else's, his OD and other skills weren't as good.

Firstly, everyone has to look at what is best for one's own team, independently of the national teams. Not everyone can train Indian players only
Secondly, even if one wants to, it is not so easy to get the right player for the right price. Some recent prospects have been priced way too high.
Thirdly, training is a long term process which takes patience. I do not believe that a NT or U21 coach has that much time to nurture fresh talent.
Finally, what counts is performance and, even more, service to the overall community. I have noticed much more activity and discussion in the last year than before.

I agree with every point Jay m has made. And just because yodabig is a coach, that doesn't mean that he has to be training an Indian player/s. He's the one that really changed India as a whole, and we're definitely on its way to becoming a much stronger team without a doubt. I think you should appreciate his contribution to India.

Good question and I will see if I can give you a good answer.

First the funny answer: I am training an Indian player and I think I have done a great job with him so far!

Diptavrna Kumar (19609870) Shooting Guard
Weekly salary: $ 4 224
Age: 18
Height: 6'2" / 188 cm
Potential: superstar
Game Shape: strong
Jump Shot: proficient ↑ Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: strong Handling: mediocre
Driving: respectable ↑ Passing: mediocre
Inside Shot: atrocious Inside Def.: awful
Rebounding: mediocre Shot Blocking: inept
Stamina: inept Free Throw: average Experience: atrocious

Ok back to being a little more serious here is my timeline.

Last December I got the chance to gran the highest salaried 18 year old in all of Australia at a great price. So I did.
Mu Hongyun Bought Berwick Beers 12/12/2010 $ 520

In January I was talking to my good buddy Iwen current coach of the Australian U21 team about the future of running the Australian U21 team. I said that at some stage I would like to do it. He said that he would probabl go for the job in season 16 and considering his success in training three players onto the U21 team he would have a good chance of getting it. We discussed me being his assistant but I had already been helping for two seasons and helping is way different from running it. So I decided that I would go and get some experience by running a different National Team for a couple of seasons. I started looking around for very small nations that spoke English and actually crossed India off my list as too big. I had decided to go for the UAE job when someone contacted Iwen about the India job and he recommended me. I started investigating the U21 India team about 4/11/2011.

I had really wanted to get a great young Aussie with high potential. Mu is good but I am aiming for the ABBL so I need Superstar or higher potential. In the first week of the season I found someone suitable in Kumar.

Diptavrna Kumar Bought Saintstars 4/23/2011 $ 312

At this time : LA-höfðingi [U21 þjálfari was still running the team, I was hoping to be elected but had no way of knowing if I would. The deadline was:

April 26 (Tu): U21 Elections conclude at the end of the day (EST).

So I had no reason to get an Indian trainee before that date and I needed a great third trainee as soon as possible as the season was about to start.

As it happened I did win the election (hooray) but I still needed a third trainee urgently when up popped this guy - perfect for my needs. Young, superstar potential and already with some training so he wouldn't hurt me in league matches too much.

Barton Melmeth Bought Revolutionary Panthers 4/28/2011 $ 700 000

Barton Melmeth (16765388)
Point Guard
Owner: Chelsea Seagulls
Weekly salary: $ 9 722
Age: 20
Height: 6'4" / 193 cm
Potential: superstar
Game Shape: strong
Jump Shot: proficient Jump Range: strong
Outside Def.: prolific Handling: respectable
Driving: strong Passing: sensational
Inside Shot: awful Inside Def.: pitiful
Rebounding: awful Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: average Free Throw: inept Experience: pitiful

Not as good as some of the India NT players this season but an Aussie with his age and potential and at such a reasonable price I couldn't resitst.

So basically just as I started I had my three trainees in place and loved all three of them.

And that short story is why I don't have an Indian-Indian but only an Australian-Indian trainee.

However for the future this is my plan. I will be training Mu all of next season but he will cap out soon so at the end of season 17 he will move to SG/SF for me and only get trained if I do two position training for JS or 1on1.

To be continued...
