Good luck to everyone! I thought I might get to sneakily stay up, but hopefully I'll be back soon. I did get 2 great trainees though - so I might stay down to train them for a couple of seasons.

Super tough league!



You'll be back soon, at least to II. Congrats on the nice draftees - my draft was like Zenith's, except that not only were they so bad that they needed to be fired, but I had to fire my front office staff for drafting them (well, two of them - had no choice on the 3rd, obviously). ;)

I must say, having better draft position certainly does help! It looks like I got my top three choices.

Also really like the new (well, it's their second second but I didn't bother with them last season) options for finding info on draftees. Using a couple of them I was able to really rank order my draftees in a more knowledgeable way than in the past. And then got lucky with the potential of my first pick. He'll stick around for some out of position training for the next season or two before hopefully becoming a cornerstone guard for my club.

Now to see whether random.org did as a good a job for my Utopia team.

Or so you thought. Utopia's still not updated yet, it looks like. But I used my traditional method of blind ordering so I am certain I'll have picked up some awesome players.

Yeah, we don't even have our MVP voting yet in Utopia. There are a lot of leagues to go through before getting to Utopia, but it seems to be taking longer this year to get from the USA to Utopia. Probably just my perception, though.

I've used random.org to spit out a new order of 1-48 each season for my Utopia team with very limited success. But it's allowed me to bank 84 points so far for when I do have a top 5 pick. I've decided I have to have at least that high a pick to bother spending any points.

I spent a fairly large amount on draft points in Utopia this season, so I'm waiting anxiously to see how my picks turned out.
This was the first year my homegrown team made the playoffs there, so my place in the draft order is a bit worse than it has been the prior two seasons.

My Utopia draft was the same as my draft here, only with different flags. Ugly with a capital Ugh.

We've got the new teams and salaries have updated now. I'm still waiting for the season ticket holder update so I can try to figure out what prices to set for the first half of the season, and am glad I drew a bot in the Cup.

Why am I always the one starting the season with a shitty first-week schedule? TV-road game and a rivalry game on the first week.

Lucky me. I've got the Clogs as my rival again. Guess my fans have decided to hold on to the idea that we our rivals since we split our series back in S28 when I Normal'd the last game of the season while he TIE's to save enthusiasm for the playoffs. Never mind that they clomped all over us with reckless abandon 3 games to 0 in S29.

My rivals have always been either Silverback or Jack Rabbit.

On the other hand, the last five seasons, the last team to beat me ended up in the NBBA. Which either says something promising for you or reveals something about my ability as a manager. ;)

In terms of bad schedule breaks, I think lathrop got the shaft again - a road TV game against me late in the first part, then a road TV game late in interconference.
