Thanks for that, but I have a few additional questions now :)

In regards to question 1 about the Country Rank, is that based on how many games you have won, or the stats of your players or something else? If my team that is ranked 664 beats a team ranked 324 would I then become ranked 324?

In regards to question 5 about being in debt, does that mean you can stay in debt provided you are less than 500,000 dollars in debt?

In regards to question 7 about TIE, you said you recommend playing TIE until I really need to win the game right? But doesn't playing TIE lower your chances of winning the current game? So should I sacrifice my chance of winning the current game just to increase enthusiasm? Also how much does enthusiasm really help in a crucial game?

In regards to question 13 about the Staff, you mentioned that the PR guy is totally useless. What makes you say that? Can anyone else please confirm this? Thanks

Also I added question 16 on the main page. If you could help with that as well that would be awesome!
16. Under Arena, it says Season Ticket Holders = 600. What exactly does this mean? Does it mean I'm gauranteed 600 seats to be sold each game? Will this number go up/down throughout the season? Or is it set at the start of the season and if so, what determines what number it is? Also, if it means that 600 people come to the game each week at least, which seats do the Season Ticket Holders use up?

Also I have another question :) It regards the Box Score page for a match. It shows the following:

awful (medium) Outside Scoring awful (medium)
awful (low) Inside Scoring inept (low)
pitiful (high) Perimeter Defense pitiful (medium)
inept (medium) Inside Defense atrocious (high)
awful (medium) Rebounding awful (low)
awful (low) Offensive Flow pitiful (high)

Matchup Ratings
Points per 100 Shots Position Points per 100 Shots
108.8 as PG 97.9
102.1 as SG 108.6
106.3 as SF 87.4
127.7 as PF 94.3
115.2 as C 108.7

Am I right in understanding that the stuff at the top (Outside Scoring etc) where it says Awful (medium) etc is just a rating of how my outside scoring was for that match? Is the High, medium and low a way to seperate categories like awful into sub-categories? How exactly does the Matchup Ratings work? I know its the points per 100 shots, but who is taking those 100 shots? Is it my starter or my backup or my reserve? Or is it a mix of all of them? And where are the shots being taken from?

Thanks!
Thanks!

rank is not about the winning percentage but overall quality and prestige of your team. you can beat a higher ranked team thanks to both of your tatical choices but it wont help you rise in rankings too much. said that, every game you win will contribute to your ranking, but you should not expect dramatic changes after a win or loss.

as far as i know, yes. but you will be penalized for your debts at a percentage. you should look at the manual for the certain answer.

TIE lowers your chances to win, but a high enthusiasm will boost your team. The logical path to walk here is to collect enthusiasm by going TIE until you face a must win game. Even at that game i advise you to go with normal instead of crunch time as it will cut your enthusiasm value to half. The exact effect of enthusiasm and effort is not known for sure, i think you should check it yourself.

PR guys are useful if you want a boost at home or away. But the main virtue of a PR guy, you normally expect him to boost your fan base and he wont help too much in that area. If you feel you need one, you should go with a low level one.

16- Exactly. It is set at the start of the season and will stay same for that season. No matter how you set the price, those number of fans will attend to games.

Matchup ratings works just like your player ratings. Low-Medium-High are used as subranks. per 100 shot is a bit confusing value, but i know its calculation includes all players involved in the game.

Hey mate, I'll clarify a few things for you.

Regarding debt, you get charged 5% interest per week when you're in the red. In the past if you were $500,000 or over in debt, you'd have a week to clear it or lose your team, now it's changed to give you a better chance to retain your team by automatically putting all your players up for sale in an attempt to bring you back (like a liquidation sale).

With enthusiasm and TIE, I play TIE all season except important games during the season where I play Normal with Enthusiasm levels of around 10. Once your enthusiasm reaches 8+ mark, playing TIE is like playing normal with Enthusiasm 5.

PR Guy can be useful only if you hire the specialised ones. National Appeal helps you on the road by reducing home court advantage to the opponent, and Crowd Involvement helps your home court advantage when you play at home. I employ a level 3 National Appeal..

Box score page.

Basically rates how your team performed and how your opponent performed. For example if you have good perimeter defence and played a 3-2, the rating will be higher than if you played a 2-3. Personally I use ratings to know when I need to improve, especially when I play the right defence set and still get smacked.

Points per 100 Shots, the higher the shot percentage, the more points a player will score when he takes his "100 shots". This can be influenced by the defence, or lack of, your players ability to score and defend will affect the outcome of both yours and the opponent. It's combined for the match I believe, so both starter and backup is included.

Hey mate,
Cheers for that! You said you play TIE each week unless you need to win it, does that mean you still win with TIE? I've only been playing a week so I've had it on normal so far, should I switch it to TIE? I'm just asking because I don't know if my team would be good enough to win if they were TIE?

I currently have a Level 4 PR guy with no specialty at 10k salary a week, should I sack him for a lower Level PR but with a specialty? The only reason I hired him initially was because I thought he would bring more fans to the Arena and hence more income. So is this not the case?

In regards to playing the right defence, do you always play the same defence/offence? What makes you change it if you do not keep the same?

Merry Xmas to you too!
Actually at the moment I'm having a bit of trouble deciding where to play my players, do you mind if I send you a mail.
Cheers!

I got promoted the last 2 seasons and being in Div II, my players are not up to scratch. I do have a great C who I'm retraining into a SF, so I'm playing him as a PG most of the season, so no, this season I'm not winning anything. Last year I went unbeaten playing TIE in almost all my games except against harder division rivals.

Regarding PR guys, there's no real hard evidence on how much income each level guy will bring in. I'd just get one with a specialty.

Offence/Defence depends on your players abilities and play style of the opponent. If you have players who can score inside and outside, go for a neutral offence like Push The Ball, if you have great outside scorers, go Motion/Run and Gun. If you have great inside scorers, Look Inside, if you have great passers and inside scorers, play Low Post. You get the deal.. The faster the offence, the lower quality shot, but you'll get more shots per game. If you're playing a good team, you might wanna slow down the offence so he gets less shots in the game, because if you play too fast, he'll get more shots... and might build a big lead..

Defence depends on whether your opponent has a history of playing inside or outside, so check out his recent games. Scout your next opponent.

Mail is always welcome! Post on the Aussie forums, we're glad to help.

You have to look at your current siituation in the league - you may play TIE or NORMAL , dont advise you to play Crunch- only when you are sure of real upset.
