Looks like winner of big 8 will take it all

I think in the spirit of competition and teambuilding, and as a rebuke to the concept of last-minute purchases, IYF and I should agree to play the conference final with only players who have been with our teams since they were 18 (or drafted at 19yo). The scary thing is that wouldn't give me as much of an advantage as I might over other teams - he could still put out a fairly competent starting five within those constraints.

Other than that, though, it'll hopefully be a great game. I know I've been on the edge of promoting out of here a couple of seasons now and just run into that one team that was better when it counted, and I would not at all be surprised if that happened again. Just a week ago we played a preview and I kept it pretty close but couldn't pull it out, and now we've each added one significant inside player. But these are the types of challenges that make the game worth playing, and maybe since I've been unable to outmanage the opposition so far and I surely can't outtalent him, maybe I'll just get lucky and steal a win.

Of course, that all still puts aside the issue that whoever comes out of the Great 8 is still going to be a tough challenge for either of our teams. I think the B8 champ is probably the favorite with HCA but it's far from a certain outcome.

Good luck in the finals. I'm not sure how in the name of hell you forced what was a 9-1 turnover-assist ratio on me, or how a freaking 18 IS guy is shooting 1-13 and missing assisted layups and dunks, but clearly your team is better tonight.

Sb only had 6 players available
I think this one is in the bags
I must say our league will be the weakest it has ever been unless some monster drops down from div I

Thank you
it must have something to do with a motivational celebgate video Coach put to the guys just before jumped in
You have monster rebounding, considering what I had there, and it was a game were defensive was over offense

I was worried when I saw you went with a super-big lineup. I didn't think I'd have an edge on the boards at all, let alone as much as it went. Of course, I had the key component required for a lot of offensive boards - missed shots.

Still shocked and disappointed how poor Childs shot, especially seeing the PP100. But I suppose in the end, it's all scenery in a drive that ended up where it was destined to, especially since I was the idiot behind the wheel. Now go win the finals and be gone with you! ;)

You sold Childs almost doubling the price in the post-season
nice deal!

Yep. I was definitely lucky there. I actually listed Thayer too, sort of in a "now what?" type of thing, but nobody bid on him. I suppose I've had my try now at trying to give in to the LI monster to get out of here and that failed, so it's time to really buckle down on getting back to building a great-ish American Princeton team and see if I can push that any further.

Congrats to In Your Face for winning the Championship. It was a really tough division this season. I will be headed in the opposite direction to DIII, where I plan on training big men and the SF I got in the draft. I still think the draft could be better, if they would increase the star potential for a few more players. The lack of 5 ball skill big men with good potential was disappointing considering I spent a lot of money scouting and ended up with a 6 ft. 3 in. Superstar SF who is 19. But its been fun in this DII League, and I hope to make it back sooner than later.
