We made it to the final 8 in the consolation tournament. But without the HCA, we couldn't go any futher. The fact that Costa Rica CTed us and that as a result, we ended up losing that game, sure is costly. Never the less, the belgian NT preformed much better than we had done so in the past. Winning the tournament was something that wasn't realistic, not even if we had the HCA in each game. Their are many stronger teams than us, and the fact that we managed to beat Latvia and Croatia in the first place, is only because they decided not to CT us. Had they played CT, we would have lost without a dought.
In today's game, we got hammered on the boards. 3 offensif boards for us, against 21 for the turkish. That means 18 extra possetions for the turkish through rebounding alone. If you add the ammount of fauls that were commited which resulted in FT's, then it's no wonder that we ended up losing the game. Still don't understand what took Gallagher to make 6 faules in 5 minutes. He most certainly wasn't outmatched at any point, and most of those fauls seem to have been committed without his opponent attempting to take a shot...
Anyhow, i'd like to thank all the managers for keeping their players in good shape, despite the numerous injuries we suffered ( at a certain point, Hemerijckx, Dorchain and Ballaert all were injured on the same saterday...) We gained a few spot on the rankings list, and all that remains now, is hope for a good draw in the european quallifier in season 19.
The NT will have atleast one scrimmage with the U21, to give some playing time to the players who currently are being trained for the NT/U21 (we'll mix the teams so that it's a more or less fair match up). This means that alot of regulars will be booted off the team. But don't worry, all of the players should return once the competition starts next season.
Other than that, their will also be a scrimmage against Danmark and maybe one against Taiwan too, but i'll announce more about next week.
