A great result against Luxembourge, I was watching a lot of this game live and it was looking tight. We already had Hashmat Firosh our starting SG out injured and in the first minute of the game we lost our starting PF Sarfaraz Ishtaq for the match to an injury.
1 11:31 0 — 0 S. Ishtaq (H) attempts a jump-shot from the wing
1 11:31 0 — 0 B. Cocq (A) is called for a shooting foul.
1 11:31 0 — 0 S. Ishtaq (H) takes a hard shot and will have to leave the game.
Considering we only have 8 real players on the team that left us with just 6 functional players and a bunch of our "saves"who were only suited up for the experience.
After the 1st we were up 2. Late in the 2nd we were down 4 and at the half we were still up just 2. Scary times. Then in the second half we pulled right away finishing with a 25-15 3rd and a devastating 32-9 4th.
There were great performances by several players.
LUX played a FCP against us but our floor general Hashmat Gnanam just ripped it apart having 0 turnovers and 7 assists, a pity about his poor shoting.
Star of the high profile team Indiens de Polytech, Dharmakeerti Kumar, forced to play SF after the injury reshuffle was a monster with 13 REB, 7 AST and 24 PTS.
#23's Indian star Aanandakumar Ghosh was awesome not just scoring 23 points but having a team high 8 assists.
Velmurugan Dey had to contend with the much bigger LUX big men and did it well enough to keep us in the game, he didn't stop a lot of shots but he did rebound the misses.
Diganta Subramanyam had his best game with the team chipping in a much needed 16 points off the bench.
But our man of the match was clearly Aloki Peppin our 6'5" SF who had to fill in almost the entire game at PF and dragged down an amazing 17 rebounds to go with his impressive 24 points.
Great win team!
