For me the common mistakes that should be avoided by new managers are:
1. Overspending on the TL - Most new managers make the mistake of spending away the initial $300K they get on the TL before even getting to know the game or the normal bidding price of a player
2. Non-existant training regime - For new managers often make the mistake of not having a training regime. It is best that you start the game with two 18-19yo trainees for your team's long term.
3. Having 13 or more players on the roster - You won't need more than 12 players in your roster. There are only 3 games per week. So anything more will only mean extra expenses
4. Getting too high a level of a PR and Doctor. For most cases a level 1 is good enough for Div III
5. Arena - Not investing in arena and not setting the correct price for the arena. $ is very important. We get most of our $ from arena. So invest for the long term
6. No knowledge of game shape management - Flelding your best players for all three games in a week will only cause their game shape to drop. It is always best to have the week's total minutes between 48-75 mins.
