That's the plan bro
Been trying to stay afloat and training some young guns which I hope to sell to get that final piece by playoff time

“I am happy that a few teams played so poorly.”
"sealing their fate."

got it

On the bright side, your team should have plenty of enthusiasm after an unwinnable road game that you had the good sense to TIE... oh, right.

As the old saying goes, if at first you don't succeed, at least the relegation penalty wears off around the ASG. Or so I've heard.

I'm not sure I'd predict an early exit for Milwaukee. I sure don't enjoy playing them, though to be fair, I don't think I'd rather play Marshland or Yuck instead either. Can't I just get to play TTS and have that be good enough?

Oh, yeah, incidentally great work on the writeup. I miss being able to do that like I used to do a few years back.

Some quick thoughts from me:
1. If you sort the teams from highest shooting percentage allowed to the lowest, you'll come up with a list very similar to your rankings. The reason for that is that you're intelligent and that defense is highly correlated with winning. I imagine if buzzermanager had the ability to exclude obviously thrown games it would be an even tighter fit.
2. If you sort the teams by top five salaries, the four highest paid top fives are all in the Great 8. Of those four, one is very likely to miss the playoffs, another is on pace to squeak in, and then the other two are solidly in. Keep this in mind while I point out...
3. If you sort the teams by the salaries paid for their top 6-10 players, the four highest totals are your Big 8 playoff teams. The moral of the story is that spending a lot of salary on a few very good players can be pretty successful or not, while spending enough salary to have a solid ten deep (or close to it) roster is usually very successful.
4. If we were using the NHL style playoff seeding, GS would be hosting Milwaukee in the first round. I don't actually remember if the division champion would automatically get home ice even if the second wild card had a better record, but in this case GS would have it anyhow on the points scored tiebreaker, since they're tied on record and point differential. Pretty nifty, that.
5. Checking the advanced stats, I'm contesting 67% of my shots and allowing a minuscule 67 points per 100 shots. Maybe that's why I haven't given up 900 points yet on the season and the rest of you slappies are over 1000 points allowed.

6. No playing TIE versus Yuck. That sure seems to be the theme this season. Keep on bringing it fellas.

I'll make sure to crunch time the hell out of you while trying to figure what I am even doing anymore.

My methodology is less scientific than yours hrudey. I basically just look at who I expect to win each of the remaining games. Not really taking into consideration matchup specific issues such as whom matches up best against whom. But I do look at the USA-Offsite team data to help review how good a team is currently.

Its similar to how I develop my team. I have 3 skills I prefer my players to have in general (and its not defense). However, if the market deems it I will buy whatever player makes most sense at the time. Which is why I have 2 centers and a PF I can't seem to get rid of leading my team. I'm pretty plain when it comes to that. The market I concentrate on is too small to be ultra-picky. (And it seems saturated with inside players this season).

I pay as much attention to the economics of a team. Which is probably a big reason why I have never hired a player over 100K yet or paid more than 700K for a player. That will probably change next season.

Anyway, you should look at my first set of predictions lol. My prediction for Silverbacks was way off! Everyone else was pretty close, but the Big 8 was much better than I expected overall.

Don't worry, hrudey! I'll be back to play you in 6-8 seasons. And by then, I should have the resources to compete!

Yes, very nice write up. But just so you know, one or two 100k+ players can be quite useful in this league (like in the 120k-150k range). They helped me do well last season. However, their salaries made my team go NBBA or bust...

I used to go after those salary beasts too for promote or bust. I feel like those are the only treat times to have those players.

sometimes your trainee just gets that good
u gotta keep them :O
big men get to 100K easily
i guess its the 150K+ players where u have to avoid taking

i am 70K below salary level of Clogs
i am one man short of a 8 player rotation
i dont know if u need to go 10 men deep with good stamina on your players
