really good games from the great 8 conference this time
first one was undoubtedly AD vs BBC.a game which went into OT and the underdogs, hardcourt dunkers, won.honestly I had neever expected a win in this game, especially with m starter SG injured and my starter SF in not so good GS but seems that the free throw training has finally done something good for my team.
second one was the one between dhaka devils and indiens.dhaka were without their best player and have just qualified to IPBL.so these 2 reasons were enough to think indiens as the favourites but the devils used the weapon of CT to perfection to defeat indiens by a huge margin.
third was the one between heart winners and fero rebels.though fero has a reputation of being one of the prime teams of the country and they reached their first ever league finals last year but this season its been a different approach from jay jay as he sold off all the players which he had bought and was losing every game purposely but it was a different game by them tonight as they defeated their opponents by 9 points.
so with this the first 7 games of the league have come to an end and as expected DP has an unbeaten run so far.Golden rule have regained their lost no 1 spot in great 8 conference.plateaus overcame a poor start to the season with 5 wins on the trot to make it 5-2 and reach 2nd in big 8 and 4th in the league while hardcourt dunkers had the best ever start to any season in IPBL with a 5-2 record and a huge PD to reach 2nd in great 8 and 3rd in the league.punjabb police has the best start amongst all the new comers this season and at one stage they were 5-0 but back to back losses from lucknow and DP changed that to 5-2 and they sit at the third position in big 8 and 7th in the league.all dragoons, who can be termed as the PSG of IPBL,had a really good run of 5 games after being defeated by golden rule but a shock defeat against hardcourt dunkers ended that run and now they sit at 3rd in great 8 and 4th in the league with a 5-2 record and a PD of 171.lucknow have had a mixed season and they have a 4-3 record and sit at 4th in big 8 and 8th in the league.indiens are used to staying so low in the great 8 standings as they sit in the 4th spot in great 8 and 6th in the league.the same goes for the cows who have never been out of the top 4 after first 7 games barring their first season in IPBL.dhaka would probably feel that thy should be placed higher in the league tables after the biggest turnover of the season by defeating indiens and almost defeating all dragoons but they have had a good start for a new comer and they sit at the 5th spot in great 8 and9th in the league.the remaining 6 teams have failed to impress and I doubt any one of them will be able to enter the top 5 of their respective conferences except fero, cuz I never know what jay jay can do with the money he has with him.
