I sold my longtime SF Kam Kil Yung who won the 3pt contest in back to back seasons and was a regular participant every season.

this is a pretty frustrating season. I thought i've been doing the right thing but i can't believe my team lost in the cup today to a team whose salary is way lower than mine, especially after I made it this far after sacrificing the league games to barely hold the GS together. might as well just sell my entire fucking team and demote

I would say take the rest of the day to think it over and make sure that if you do sell, list everyone tonight so whoever buys them will be able to play them Tuesday no matter where they are in the world. I suppose you'd be out of luck your Tuesday game, though, but I suppose whoever you're playing won't mind.

Seriously, Cup losses can really suck. I've never really been in the position to put more into the Cup than the league, but BB can be a capricious game and when it's a one-and-done situation that one bad game will end it, while in a season you have time to make up the ground. It just looks like you got creamed from outside and your offense wasn't able to punish him sufficiently for playing a 2-3 (which is quite possibly why he played it), plus your guys were wearing their fouling shoes. It's definitely rough to lose a game when you've got such balanced scoring.

Well this is my final update before the playoffs. I'm pretty disappointed in the Great 8. I am happy though that a few teams played so poorly that I still have an outside chance to make the playoffs!?!

Worst to best with expected record:
16) TicTacShack 0-22. If they wanted to they could attempt to win two games and still be in last place.
15) Fern Creek Clerics 2-20. They officially win the I don't give a crap about this season at all award.
14) Nome White Owls 4-18. Having stayed at league minimum all season. They actually beat a team by surprise.
13) San Francisco Warriors 7-15. At this point they are attempting to sell their recent NT pickup. Having CT'ed hrudey, they look to be sealing their fate.
12) smallfries 8-14. Sitting atop a pile of cash they have to figure out what they want to do. They have 3 weeks to decide. Obviously they will be playing at home in a relagation series if they do go that route.
11) Mc Fatties 9-13. Got lucky in my last game. This should lock me into 6th place unless the injury bug comes back.
10) Reston Thumpers 10-12. With upsetting two top teams in the Big 8, they have bolstered their chances to land in the 5th spot or better.
9) Diorite Pistons 11-11. They have a monster center now leading their team and he should lead them to 5th place.
8) Silverbacks 11-11. They recently converted into an inside based team and look solid at #4. Quite balanced salaries at the top as well.
7) Jack Rabbits 12-10. The rabbits have a very short rotation at the moment. However, with 9 wins already they are sitting pretty.
6) Milwaukee Lethargy 15-7. Their have a very old but very solid roster. Playoff bound with an early exit expected.
5) Minnesota Snowbirds 15-7. I like their remaining schedule. They could still end up in first place.
4) GS_Warriors 15-7. Because of their PD they should manage to get first place.
3) Marshland Mammals 17-5. Most likely to end up in 3rd in the Big 8 despite a very solid record. Their cup games should be interesting to follow.
2) Cassville Yuck 18-4. They have a tougher schedule than the Clogs having to face them away.
1) Rik Smits Clogs 19-3. I think they could be upset by a team or two but they can afford to lose 1 and still end up with the best record.

Other than the Snowbirds, no one had to manage with a major injury during the interconference games. Well done Big 8!

I have always been a spade is a spade guy and you really took what he said out of context. He did state that a few teams played poorly but you left out him saying so it gave him a shot at the playoffs. Thus implying to avoid relegation which is where your team would come in to play. I believe he is referring to the teams that happen to be ahead of him in the standings that played poorly and not the teams that are behind him that have played poorly. So if you took offense or felt slighted in the least bit, you have been relieved.

Thanks Law. You obviously took a few minutes out of your life to formulate some thoughts on our league. Thanks man. These make the league better. I think it is Hrudey's league to win but I maintain the snowbirds are the sleeper. GS frontline is legit and is transfer deadline depth away from being a real force. Mutual ties in the playoffs will tilt the balance one way or the other. My opinion.
