NT NEWS:
DISAPPOINTING DEFEAT AGAINST PAKISTANThe ball has spoken. After an easy victory against Macau, we entered the "real" competition with a big game against Pakistan. The preparation of the game was interesting as I had several discussion with Indian managers. We talk about our strengths and weaknesses. But also the ones of our opponents.
After checking on Pakistan roster and tactics adopted since last season, we came up with the fact that Pakistan was an outside attacker team. That's the reason that comforted me to choose a 3-2 defense in this game.
Regarding their defense, it was kind of strange. Indeed, the two previous games, Pakistan played Inside Box and One. As they had two monstrous stars, one inside, and one outside, I decided to pick a neutral tactic for this game: Patient.
I hoped that the game engine will focus our attacks on Pakistan weakest sector. But it was nothing of the sort.
The only player that respected his standing was once again: T. Jaiswal
(9093174). He finished the game with a 15.0 rating. 33 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. But he is a perfect illustration of India poor shooting positions as he average at 41 FG%, and especially 27% 3FG! The most disappointing player is undoubtedly C. Gopal Reddy
(8195561). He didn't lead the game as I wish we would. And that's my fault. I thought he would perfectly fit as Point Guard. I've mistaken.
If we have to retain a positive thing in this match, I would name it: D. Nagendra Gandhi
(10440985). He provided a good performance and didn't take some weird risks. He assumed his role, and I hope we'll see him improve his game.
I don't deserve the "100%" satisfaction rate India have entrusted me. National Team is a cruel game. Especially for small nations like ours. One defeat can have a huge impact. But still, we have a lot of games left, and I hope you'll still be behind your country. I'm the only one responsible of my mistake. So to those who keeps on helping me out, I still need your help out there.
See you soon, the U21 are playing in a matter of time.
