Rik Smits Clogs now has a scary lineup. I was quite busy this morning otherwise I wouldn't let Wes Childs to be sold for less than 400K. I sold him to save up due to a few mistakes I made in the market lately.

Anyway, good luck to Rik Smits Clogs. If he wins it all this season, it will be the first All-Americans team that I've seen that makes it to D. I.

And I also hope that my team will become somehow competitive next season :(

I'm glad you were busy then. I'm not sure I would have gone to 400k, but of course I would have probably gone to 300k and you would have made more selling him today for that than you would re-buying him, paying another week's salary and then having higher taxes come out.

That's a 600k roster
Man I was hoping all the taxation and salary floor etc would not lead to this
I am prepping myself for a monster roster prior to playoffs next season as well

In my case, none of that is relevant - I haven't been near the salary floor since it was implemented, and I'm still not near the tax because I've got well over 200k in training exceptions. I just went far enough in the Cup that I actually had what (for me) is a ton of money sitting around, and then there was this player who is nearly an ideal player for me if I do promote, who I could afford to purchase now. But it's not like I was sitting here with a minimum roster, trying to squeak into the playoffs, and then going out and buying four monsters to try to buy a title - it's more of a fortification of a team that was very close as it was and now, hopefully, can get over the hump.

I know what u mean
From the 3 seasons I have been here
It seems like u need a near 600k roster at the end to finish it off
I am not signaling u out in anyway
I am hoping the deadline to add the final piece to be closer to midpoint of the season like the week of allstars
But If this the game design then managers just have to adapt
One can argue it's a little piece to your championship puzzle
Or I can say u just added 1/3 of my payroll too
I have looked at lower division as well
It's seems like the balance of power is getting out of control
The lead team has significant higher salaries across the board
I even see 30k players in div4
It is one of the factors we are losing ppl in the game
This game is no longer competitive at most division levels
Just my 2 cent

BTW may I know how much merchandise you earn every week? I'm curious about how much of an impact there is for having an all-american team in D. II. I've always had an all-american team before I promoted to this league but eventually i had to give up on that idea.

Hopefully not..... ;)
there could be nice POs

He's still got to get healthy by the time the playoffs start. I suppose that injury he picked up made it possible for him to go for as low a price as he did, fortunately for me. I still haven't decided if it'll be him or Thayer that I move if I don't end up promoting.

I've been between roughly 66k and 69k per week this season.

Well, our game demonstrated precisely why I needed something. I can defend pretty much anybody well enough to win, except for the necessity of actually scoring points myself. I have nobody at all on my roster that can be counted on to score, especially with the more outside focus my team had. Childs hopefully can at least give me a somewhat reliable scoring threat inside, which should hopefully reduce the number of 5-19 shooting performances from my various guards.

Of course, now that you've picked up a guy who isn't injured, it's going to be even more fun. Sad thing is there's no way you should have even been demoted last season, and now you're stuck in a league with a tool like me who's ready to get out of II and probably could have by now in any other league. ;) But of course, that's our league motto:

II.4 ... come for the punch in the teeth, stay for the kick in the crotch!
