A job well done

To be honest, Paraguay was not a threat to us but guessing the tactics right allowed them to start the game way better than anyone expected, they were even leading by 2 after the first quarter. The rest of the game was another story, Malaysia U21 started to play as they should have and scored twice more points than their opponents in quarter 2 & 3. The last quarter was well played to finish the job and the total of 123 points scored is the best offensive scored for Malaysia U21 in an official game since... season 21! At that time, Malaysia recorded a 135-92 win against Pakistan, a 43-point margin so exactly the same than today's game.

One of our best players, Ricky George, didn't play due to a small fever. It allowed us to see some newcomers, more specifically, the 20-year old Dicky Looi who scored 23 points in 28 minutes. Gary Gaisah was not an initial Malaysia U21 player but his qualities are much needed and he showed to the world what he can do: 18pts and 4asts in only 23 minutes. Also worth noting the 7 steals made by Edwin Majabou in 22 minutes, it's almost one steal every 3 minutes!

For the next game, Malaysia U21 will to go to Venezuela to face a strong team. Before their game against Taiwan (which will be held in a few hours), they were undefeated. A great challenge to come for the Malaysia U21 NT.

Hidup Malaysia!

Yes, good summary of what our expectations should be for the next games, I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't steal a win against Slovakia or Venezuela. Especially that last quarter against Venezuela, tactics were not the best (once more!) but scoring only 3 points in that final quarter...

The first goal of the season was to qualify for the tournament bracket and an ambitious 6-2 ratio was expected. We won't be able to qualify with a ranking as high as expected but we have to win these 2 games by big margin to qualify so we will put our best for these games.

I don't underestimate India, they have quite a good team and they could cause us troubles even with similar enthusiasm. As for Barbados, we need to crush them to keep hope but as they beat India (in India), it will also be more difficult than it could seem at first. All 3 teams have an even record with 3 wins and 3 losses.

Hey guys, do you know if there is a way to save the promising Michael Duan (34046072) from finishing his career in a computer managed team?

I'm ashamed of our last result, a loss at home against India while the tournament qualification was at stake. This season, our young players were good, we had the players needed to move forward and I failed to bring this team where it deserves to be.

I will explain more about my bad performance later on.
