Singapore suffers 81-114 defeat against mighty Taiwan

Singapore suffers a 81-114 defeat as expected against mighty Taiwan. After P. Jian Long put in a better than expected performance from the bench in his previous NT game, Eric (NT manager) duly rewarded him with a chance to do battle against C. Ren Qing, Taiwan veteren PF, who claims to rule the paint in Taiwan. To the delight of both Eric and his club manager, P. Jian Long didn't disappoint as he led Singapore in terms of scoring with 27 points, 10 rebounds and a decent 12-22 shooting effort from the field. "Definitely one of his better performance for the NT!" Eric told the reporters.

Taiwan has a much better FG%, 59.2% as compared to Singapore's 40%. C. Ren Qing led the team with 20 points and he was well supported by C. Ju Long, W. Jie Quan, D. Kwan Jit, H. Wai Zin and D. Yiu Wing, all scoring 12 or more points.

meanwhile at void deck press conference room

After having a outstanding performance against Taiwan, PJL couldn't hide his smile after the match. while akl was complaining in the whole game. Sonic manager was delight after watching the game.

Manager: PJL performance was good as match up with one of the best big man CRQ. It been so long since he has a big night in NT level.

PJL: Is an honor that NT coach recognize my effort after the Malaysia game. To be honest i was nervous when NT coach decide to start me over other talented teammate. It my first time vs CRO. Not only he is tall and big, his skill is really almost above my level almost like vs young FSX plus some height. Before the game, i was having practice with FSX and WXJ. They give me some tips in defense and offense, however CRO has the different in height really can feel the pressure which cost me some turnover and fouls. Coach trust me by making play for me. With the help from ah Sze (YJS) and my speed, i got some easy looks and make the shot. thanks YJS, nice pass! I hope my skill and experience able to contribute to the team to move to next level in NT games. Look forward to the next game against japan.

AKL: Nothing to say about this game la. Like watching ah long personal show from audience sit like that. Ok la vs Malaysia that time i really screw up so bench me. But give me 18min playing time with 2 FGA times due to 24s running out how to play? Coach you hear me??!! Give me another chance I will not watch tv before the game anymore!! if not bench me again lo. Although i might lose to captain yse, but i still the top level guard what....

** manager trying to cool down akl...

Manager: haha.. haha they still young haha haha... we will do well the upcoming game vs the kings.. thank for all the support.. haha hahah hahaha

Ng Huat layup with two seconds left won Singapore over Nippon 95-94.

Huo Xiangsong era is over, meet HXS version 2.0, named Ng Huat.

With two second left and Singapore trailed by one, the 6'10" lanky bigman was guarded by 6'6" Tohru Asano, prompted Yap Jing Sze to flip inbound pass to the cutting Ng Huat, resulted to the important bucket.

Singapore were leading 74-65 going into fourth, but FSX were called for his fifth foul and that gives the Japanese chance to start the rally and eventually got even.

Peh Jian Long two clutch free throws make Singapore lead 93-91 with 16 seconds left, but Katsuro Matsumoto sank the wild three from the left wing for Nippon to regain lead 94-93. And after the timeout, the stage is set for Ng Huat.

PJL topped Merlion team with brilliant play with 29pts, and Yeo Tse Hui followed with 20pts. Ng Huat only scored 4 pts, but handed over 4 assists and 6 rebounds plus the lockdown defense against Tohru Asano and Nippon veteran Yuhei Suenami.
