That sounds good too. Yea I am just pretty sick of the fact that a lot of times a tanking team actually cumulates much more revenue ( are you kidding me?) per season, not to mention their early-round draftees. I think it's just unfair that managers of p/o teams are not awarded with their extra time & effort. I think increasing p/o revenue in someway would highly discourage tanking (which has been the main theme of improving BB at recent seasons).

For your concern of "best team keep staying on top", I don't think that weekly-awarding national tournament that you almost won actually helps.
[...]
Someone feel free to forward my suggestions along with hrudey's to this so-called "suggestion forum" (or a link would be greatly appreciated).

I was just pointing out what you'd expect to hear. I agree that the money that can be earned by tanking is absurd. I don't know if making the playoffs too profitable is a good solution, and the Cup's way too random for the money to be fair, especially at lower levels where one team can get four easy bot/V teams and earn 200k and free enthusiasm, while another one draws one of us in the first round and has a crappy fan survey the rest of the year.

Anyway, the suggestions forum is: (202503.1) The message I linked to is the minor suggestions thread, but you'd probably want to create a new thread for these.

teams goes into cycles of rebuild and competing for a championship
if you train properly the window of contention at Div II is about 3-5 seasons
this is when your 1st core group has reached 28-30 and 2nd group has come along at 22-24
that's the most economical way of competing b.c you can control the salary and skill levels
the more you depend on FA the more it's likely that you have to overspend to compete and have much shorter window of contention.

if you define tanking as in not playing your best players
then training = tanking and you really dont have a choice b/c you have respectable 18 year olds coming into leagues of marvelous level players.
if you define tanking as in no getting the all the FA for all the money in your account to get 1 shot at the title and have 0 left in the tank or 0 weekly revenue (this is what contending teams operate on) then this is also absurd.

i think if it's properly managed then you have to go through cycles so there gotta be teams who are playing youngsters.
and they should be saving more money so they could get a FA later down the road and also taken into account the cost of high level trainers.

b/c if you are competing, you have to spent more money than the average to do so. so don't complain if you get less revenue. you also get a chance to win millions if you do win. so the risk and reward balances out. it's up to you to save and train and give your team the longest window to compete. when you reach the next level, everything starts over again.

injecting more money in the economy will only create inflation
if you have 2X the revenue for playoffs then teams will spend 2X the money prior to playoffs to compete
it doesn't fix your problem

If you're really interested in that experiment I would happily do it in a scrimmage next week, though.

I'll have to take you up on that scrimmage sometime.

Honestly, you would've won by 50+ points easily. Keep in mind that your 3 scrubs relative to my lineup would be in their prime Jordan/Pippen/Rodman vs a bunch of 10 year olds with motor skill difficulties. Even an all fan team (were it possible) could possibly win. Especially with HCA + enthusiasm. (My only advantage over fans is in FT shooting slightly)

I didn't embarrass myself in the 1st quarter! I'm counting this as a victory & will stop watching now. Switched up my lineup again at tipoff & watched a little. But all my PF/C's are in foul trouble, so I'm guessing you've got this won easy?

RE
I have fallen out of love with most sports now,

But what about all the tangential stuff? Off the field shenanigans, CTE, lawsuits, marketing/monetization of everything, corruption/scandals, fancy sports costumes, mascots, obese athletes, awful announcers, weird fans, can't miss prospects who flop, "lose some weight baby girl"... and so on.

The Ali one sounds like it would be interesting though. I hadn't realized that his career came as close to Tyson's as it did - but I always seem to remember Tyson being late 80s and even early 90s and I didn't remember Ali's career really at all so I had assumed it was pre-80s.

will find you a link sometime. Think the almost overlap seems more weird since one guy started in the black & white era, while the other guy started in the video game era. Oddly enough, Tyson won his first title in 1986... from the final guy who ever fought Ali.

Probably not easy. I've had two early quarter runs that made me start to think I might pull away and then I can't score and your team crawls back into it. I've got two guys with foul trouble now (including Schulz who took an offensive foul after a full timeout with one second left in the half. Honeycutt right now is keeping you in the game by missing everything plus not stopping your SG approximately ever. But BB is a weird game and either of us may win by 25 still.

Congrats to the Rik Smits Clogs and San Francisco Warriors on making the Finals. While the playoffs have gone by the numbers so far, the games have been interesting at least - more so than most of the final scores would indicate.

Good luck to both of you in the series. Looking forward to enjoying the games.

Thanks. I'm not going to say that I'm putting more effort into scouting this series than a normal regular season game, but my crack scouting staff has just informed me that Zenith actually also has an arena. I had thought they were just a traveling team like the Globetrotters and Generals, seeing as how every time we've played before it's been at my place. I think the technical term for that scheduling quirk is "getting Jack Rabbit'd" since they were the original. ;)

It should be a fun series. I'll probably subconsciously mutter "that's why I hate this f***ing game" or contemplate punching my couch approximately fifteen times in the first quarter tomorrow night, at minimum. And then there'll probably be a stretch of really ridiculous things going in my favor for a few minutes that'll suck me back in. BB is just crazy like that, I guess. It should be fun, it should be a challenge, and I know whoever wins will represent us well in the NBBA.

There were at least 2 or 3 times when I really thought my team might be able to pull out the huge comeback, but then they'd come up just short. I really wonder if it wouldn't have been better for Kangguo to have missed that three pointer to end the third so you would have been up 22 to start the fourth and going with your reserves. As it was, garbage time never truly came.

While there are certainly a number of issues where I can second guess myself, I knew going in that you were the clear favorite. While I wish I could play the game four or five more times to see if different choices would have resulted in a different outcome, I suspect that they generally would have ended up the same.

It's been a few seasons since i've been on here. I have a bid in for Clark Apfel (not sure if I'll get him). When I left they had just announced they were going to make inside scoring less dominant. Has that happened? And what is the current model big requested for the national team?
