This Cup game is before we play, so I have no need of letting my players rest. If I have another Cup game next week, I'll think about it at that point.

ha, that shows how much attention i've been paying lately. Forgot you hadn't played this week's cup game yet.

well... after taking on so many Dudes last night, your star players surely need their rest. You've got a tough next cup opponent, but the good news is that you're at home. The only sensible course of action is to throw your next road league game (on 9/13/2014) & give next week's cup game your all!

And don't think you had to italicize briefly for me to catch that pun.

That all makes good sense (well, except it's a neutral site rather than home), but it'll be the second week in a row I play a team at a neutral site in the Cup that I beat earlier in the private league at a neutral site. Unfortunately, that game Hassan was trying out a blank lineup in the scenario where it doesn't work any more so I was fortunate to win.

I would think, though, if I were going to rest my players for a game, I'd want to rest them the game before the Cup game so I'll have more time to react if an injury does occur. Besides, though I haven't looked at the schedule or scouting report yet, my scouting staff has assured me that my next game will be played against a nursing home squad, which might not tire out our starters like playing a young, vibrant squad might. Of course, this is the same scouting staff that insisted that Morgan Menard was worth purchasing and training despite doo-doo scalp.

GL Clogs.

Eugene Register-Guard looks like they will be a challenge depending on if they feel like beating you anyway.

What year is it? Where am I?

Clearly as a GM, it would be morally wrong for you to take advantage of a team (namely my team) that suddenly doesn't even know what point of the season it is, or where/what day of the week cup games are played. Think of the scandal. So in the words of Uncle Jesse, "have mercy!"

my next game will be played against a nursing home squad, which might not tire out our starters like playing a young, vibrant squad might.

Don't be so sure. It's been said that "nursing home squad" is the new 60. And youngsters like Jelme have been tired out by many a sexagenarian. Keep in mind that everyone dressed up in their basketball costume is ambulatory, and they play Dirrty, if you know what I mean. (So, you'd be risking your star players' health *and* hearing.)

your Nursing Home Squad, with their walkers and adjustable beds, can clog up the middle and make a muddle of any inside game, but Hrudey's squad thrives on the outside, where the NHS never goes.

A bot almost outscored Clogs in our league.

Nice win shikago. Although a win under the circumstances was probably not in question.

I feel like my team is better than its record. I just can't win!

And if I relegate - I'll have to say goodbye to all my favorite homegrown players!

I was wondering if anyone uses coach parrot for training?

I use it for training and i have ran out between 20 to 30 different training plans for my team this year.

well, i got this guy named Daniel Carniça 20 who has 15 handling.

I ran out a training plan for him on coach parrot that got his handling up to 18 when he is 22 years old.

Then i switched to 1 position passing and he went from 4 to 5 to 7 and jumped 6 and and he comes up once a week until he reaches 10. - At point it takes him 2 weeks to come up 1 passing.

2 position training he comes up once a week until he reaches 9 and than it takes 2 weeks to bring him up 1.

I find coach parrot to be pretty accurate for the most part based on my experience. (4 or 5 seasons using it for training)

I have read some of the articles at the the USA off site that states that handling has a impact of bring up passing.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience doing this.

i checked on a 7 footer on the transfer list a couple months ago with high handling who came up pretty fast on passing also.

I guess if your handling is high enough than height does not become a huge factor.
