Yep, I chose to tank and take my $5million + with me down to some poor unsuspecting Div III where I hope to terrorize and destroy everyone whilst still training heavily.
I was unprepared when I promoted, I only had my promotion money, and I had Gab Wall who's salary was climbing at too fast a rate for my teams progress.
I don't see what I'm doing as a sign of weakness or mediocrity or anything that may have been mentioned by ez or urmamma.
I'll play the game I pay for however I bloody well see fit.
:)
I could have stayed in Div2 and kept in the 4-6th positions quite easily, but it would have been 8 seasons before I had enough coin to buy essential pieces to do better than that.
I didn't want to just EXIST in div 2.

Tanking is most definitely not the "Easy way out" it's extremely hard to come to terms with losing every game and selling your home grown aussie talent.

Look I kind of lost track of what I wanted to say.
But I guess the main thing to take away from this discussion is that.
Bains, even if you were #1 in BB and won the cup and the ABBL every season, you'd still be struggling to be "mediocre" in my books.
Come at me bro, Do you even lift?
:P

How do you measure success in Buzzerbeater?

By the number of ABBL titles?
By the number of NT's you have trained?
By the number of achievements point being accumulated?
Or by the largeness of your epeen?

All of the above are successes if you enjoy the game and keep coming back for more. And it looks like mad ranga and bainsy keeping coming back for more with they way they carry on at each other =P

As for me, I just want that elusive ABBL title. Cup title would be a bonus.

Great arguments HAX, thanks for sharing.

Oh actually, could you explain to my current chatting partner how you went on to relegate this season? He might be in a similar situation really soon.

I love you.

I think this is, or should be, it for most people.

Or by the largeness of your epeen?

But sometimes this over rules all.

@ Urmummas: So we moved from "I'll beat you anyday" and "your team is stuck in mediocrity" to "to this date, I have achieved more". You're slowly starting to understand things.

@ HAX: love you, too. Yes, I do argue when I have some points, I'm not the kind of guy that will dig his own grave.

@ BHB: I do understand you're paying a lot of money for your starters primary skills. However, I do not focus all my attention on the rating system. There is a stat sheet at the bottom of the page. What I see right there is that your big fellow Frost went 7/29 while only going to the FT line a couple of times. He obviously failed to drive the ball (low driving big man?) and most importantly failed to give the ball to the hot hand - or the "best match up in BB terms" - Hartnett (low passing?). Jump shot is good but you might lack some jump range to go with it.
Anyway, you might have experienced some successful times back in the days with this tactic. I think the competition is getting tougher every season and managers tend to get the best out of their players. There is no question you have a great core to work with, although I believe you didn't make the right moves as of late. As you stated, the finals are not over and I sincerly hope you'll adapt and find a way to win it.

@ Koop: Indeed, "being successful" just got to a whole new level with this achievement thing. Vis major can tell you about it.

Did I forget anybody?

hahah bellend... such a funny insult.

Bains it makes sense that you call me the definition of mediocrity.
As it has already been established that even if you were a lot better than you are, you would still be aspiring to be mediocre.
And as I am far better than you in just everything that makes sense.

Mediocre must seem pretty god damn amaze balls from down where you are huh?

Keep at it kiddo, you'll get there one day.
