I might jump in there again, you start to interest me.

How do you define stuck in mediocrity? A team of veterans that lose market value everyday versus a team of young and talented prospects with high potential that get better every week. Please developp your opinion.

How do you define success in Buzzerbeater? A random cup win once a decade along with a probable relagation and several team restructures in the long run or an everyday improving team that aims for a long term domination at the top level?

What is a "pro" according to you? I thought pro was the commonly used short term for professional, which would mean I'd play buzzerbeater for a living. If that's your opinion, I can assure you I'm not. At best I'd consider myself as a thinker of the game. "Think", ever heard of?

Great arguments HAX, thanks for sharing.

Oh actually, could you explain to my current chatting partner how you went on to relegate this season? He might be in a similar situation really soon.

My team > your team
Thats all i got
You may one day surpass me in bb achievements but till then its obvious whos been more successful in this game, you say all ive done in a decade is one cup victory, but u havent done much in ur 1 less season then me
You make light of the fact i have a team of old farts who cannot be sustained with ur team being a team on the rise and set for domination , well i welcome the challenge of meeting your team one day and seeing how that will play out
This was never about who had the better team, i was simply making the point about D and O and it being the reason why ur still in divII

hahah u talk like you're a pro, yet ur stuck in mediocrity languishing in divII having achieved shit all

i would like to point out that in no way is ezlife stuck in mediocrity. He has been able to successfully rebuild his team while maintaining his spot in div II. i can rattle off a whole heap of names who either failed to do so or opted not to back their team to stay up and take the easy route to div III.

This leagues very own Home axis opted to drop down instead of try to rebuild in div II.

Then you have Rabid Camel, who chose to leave div II.1 then go through the pain of having to rebuild his team in div II.

Violator chose to drop down last season to rebuild, although i think he may have got bored.

Wagadugu Hippo's took the easy road this season in II.3 and dropped down.

RadRanga is also taking this route in II.3 this season

Naker and is infected lads decided they needed to go down to rebuild in season 16 instead of going the hard yards to stay up.

MicroLOL took the easy way last season from II.4 to take stock instead of fighting to stay up.

and last but not least... you took the easy road yourself in season 18 when instead of attempting to stay up in 'mediocrity' you dropped straight back down taking whatever money you could save with you.

so i ask you. if maintaining yourself in div II while rebuilding your club is such mediocrity... why did a cup champion and current ABBL team like yourself give up straight away and return to div III where you spent a total of 9 seasons?

i would be more inclined to say that those 9 seasons of div III fit the terms 'mediocrity' & 'languishing' a bit better than maintaining yourself in division 2 while building for the future...

fair call
but it stands to reason my methods have achieved better results then him has it not?
this was never about who had the better team to begin with anyways
i said he's stuck in divII due to his preference of O over D, then he went and had a go at my team so i returned serve
the results on the board show my methods are more successful then his to date, till he proves otherwise, the only conclusion to draw here is i have been more successful then he has ...
simple no?

I was merely answering the questions about D.

I also have stup IS and MArv IS on my main 2 bigs, plenty of shooting on my guards. The main hole is one of my SF's but that's because i've been training their D up and have switched to IS this year. Fong already has prom IS to go with marv JS so he's no slouch.

I have built my team around D from day one and had a bloody good run in the ABBL and was caught short last season when i had 2 100k guys injured for 3 weeks. It basically cost me 6 games and that lead me to making the call to buy aussie and change things up.

The one year i focused on the cup i made the semis and was the only team that got close to BLS that season so in terms of winning trophies i haven't got any at the top level but i did play finals for about 6 seasons in a row in the ABBL.

Still happy with where my squad is at and the 2 sales i make to sort out my wage situation will free me up to make a small profit each week and also have 3mil or so in the bank. Which is a very good base to have a crack with next season.

That said i might not need too. If the injury bug hits the slashers anythign is possible

Your team is clearly better at this point in time. However your level of successfulness has nought to do with your preference of D over O. It has to do with you maintaining 'mediocrity' for a number of seasons and building a war chest.
I am confident you didn't win your way to the ABBL and a cup title because you preferred D on your players as opposed to your opponents. I would say it is because you overpowered them financially because you could afford a large wage bill. As simple as that.

It goes the other way aswell. Ezlife is not stuck in div II because he likes Offense. He is stuck in div II for the same reasons as most other managers in div 2. They simply cannot compete financially with a team who has been saving millions of dollars from tanking and able to spend it on high salaried players and able to maintain it.

Ezlife was training 18 y/o's in div II that is why he is still in div II. I don't know anyone who can train such players and promote to the ABBL. Sure you can male it if you have a big enough bank. But what is the point when your rookies are going to get smashed anyway.

Bit off topic, but I have to give props to the stone slashers this season. He built up a solid team, had a strong season with a bit of luck and is now only 1 game away from the ABBL. Props.

Yep, I chose to tank and take my $5million + with me down to some poor unsuspecting Div III where I hope to terrorize and destroy everyone whilst still training heavily.
I was unprepared when I promoted, I only had my promotion money, and I had Gab Wall who's salary was climbing at too fast a rate for my teams progress.
I don't see what I'm doing as a sign of weakness or mediocrity or anything that may have been mentioned by ez or urmamma.
I'll play the game I pay for however I bloody well see fit.
:)
I could have stayed in Div2 and kept in the 4-6th positions quite easily, but it would have been 8 seasons before I had enough coin to buy essential pieces to do better than that.
I didn't want to just EXIST in div 2.

Tanking is most definitely not the "Easy way out" it's extremely hard to come to terms with losing every game and selling your home grown aussie talent.

Look I kind of lost track of what I wanted to say.
But I guess the main thing to take away from this discussion is that.
Bains, even if you were #1 in BB and won the cup and the ABBL every season, you'd still be struggling to be "mediocre" in my books.
Come at me bro, Do you even lift?
:P
