Round 9 MVPs (Iwen/Vios/Zyler/Yoda Style)

Pancakes with Jam and Cream vs. Melbourne Goldfish 100 - 86

For a while it looked like the Pancakes were still suffering from the "mystery virus" that caused them surprisingly to lose to Slam ! last week. With only seconds to go in the 3rd qtr the Goldfish were amazingly ahead. However in the last 5 minutes of the 4th the Pancakes completly dominated and blew out a 4 point lead 83-79 to a huge 14 point winning margin scoring 17 points in 5 minutes led by PCC who had 8. The Pancakes have clutch!

3 Erinaldo Pacheco Pancakes with Jam and Cream 24 PTS 14 REB 10-15FGS 15.0 rating. While a lot of the Pancakes still had "flu like symptoms" Pacheco was in fine form scoring well and also helped foul out the Goldfish starting C in just 21 minutes.

2 Plínio Couto Costa Pancakes with Jam and Cream 27 PTS 15.0 rating. Despite having a horrible shooting night struggling against Xie and the Goldfish 3-2 zone managing just 1-9 3 pointers and a poor (by his standards) 12-31 from the field, he came through when the game was on the line and made the big shots when it mattered. Truly a superstar in this league.

1 Xie Guanzheng Melbourne Goldfish 11 PTS 8 REB 13.5 rating. Despite the game being so close for so long none of the individual Goldfish had a great night, it was more of a team defensive effort and Xie exemplified that grabbing the second most rebounds on the team and having the second best defensive rating and contributing towards keeping PCC to 12-31 and Long to 3-12.

Da Fat Boy Slim vs. Rampaging Marmots 79 - 94

Da Fat Boy Slim has joined Shark teammate Maggots in rebuilding mode and sold Yordan and many of his other good players and so the amazing has happened, the Marmots have a win! The Guppies have advised there will be a huge party to celebrate this fact next friday at zyler's house. BYO Eastern European model girlfriend.

3 Józef Urszulewicz Rampaging Marmots 45 PTS 9-14 3PTRs 13.5 rating. A dominant performance by one of the few players that have survived the Marmots recent changes with 10 big roster changes Jo has been a force of stability in an unstable franchise.

2 Kye Duffill Da Fat Boy Slim 30 PTS 18 REB 13.5 rating. Another week another great performance by the ever reliable Duff Duff who's only blemish was the 7 turnovers.

1 So Weixiang Rampaging Marmots 14 PTS 11 REB 7-9 FGS 13.0 rating. Only been with the club for a month and acquired at a bargain price, So has shown his efficiency hitting as many baskets in 9 shots as it took teammate Clune 22 shots to make.

Kynlala Knights vs. Slam ! 84 - 87

Team Kevin needs to call a doctor because their virus is spreading causing more unbeatable teams to "suprisingly" lose easy matches (to their team mates by some odd coincidence). After only winning 2 games fro the entire season Slam ! has suddenly beaten Pancakes and the Knights the two top teams in the league. I wonder if their "luck" will continue next week against mid-table Koopasaurus?

3 Fanis Zoumpadellis Slam ! 25 PTS 11 REB 17.0 rating. While 11 rebounds is disapointing a 17.0 rating is incredible and he helped keep $159 884 Kinght Héctor Pereira to 2 points for the game.

2 Shaun McArthur Kynlala Knights 37 PTS 9 REB 14.5 rating. As usual Macca had a lot of fouls (5) but as usual he didn't foul out. A great scorer and defender he needs to tell Ton (0-10) to leave the 3 point shooting to him (5-13).

1 Klaudius Macko Slam ! 20 PTS 14 REB 6 AST 2 STE 12.5 rating. Really a coin toss between him and Alejandro Ascariz but he won with the extra assists, rebounds and the 2 blocks.

Zazzocalypse vs. Viral Infections 92 - 68

I don't even know who plays for the Virus any more but this weeks 5 players featured one who fouled out early although his new C Kristijan Ognjankovski who is a human foul machine (3.6 average) didn't. This was just another case of Zazzocalypse showing what a deep and talented team she has as the playoffs begin.

3 Jean-Philippe Meneau Zazzocalypse 19 PTS 13.0 rating. Yes he scored well but keeping a player like Nica to 1-20 shooting is just sick!

2 Kristijan Ognjankovski Viral Infections 21 PTS 20 REB 17.0 rating. Sensational when he is on the court, the good new was he didn't foul out unlike in his league game where he lasted all of 18 minutes.

1 Jorge Antonio Villarreal Zazzocalypse 20 PTS 9 REB. Top scored for the Zazz and out rebounded his teams starting C.

Maggots vs. Koopasaurus 40 - 108

Koopasaurus is preparing for a tough ABBL fight, Maggots are preparing for division III. Not much to discuss here.

3 Alfred Rooney Koopasaurus 21 PTS 8 REB 15.0 rating. Displaying his old form that has rarely been seen this season the former "best PG in the Fishbowl" was his old dominant self tonight (beating up on a 6k opponent).

2 Adriano Bassi Koopasaurus 18 PTS 16 REB 6 AST 15.0 rating. Great stats but the icing on the cake was 9-10 FGs.

1 Stefano Lista Koopasaurus 13 PTS 20 REB 5 BLK 12.0 rating. 20 rebounds and 5 blocks is a man's effort...against boys.

Monkey Business vs. Chelsea Seagulls 98 - 78

(Note: The commissioner started crying when asked to prepare this report, sobbing "I thought my team was better, I coulda been a contenda, instead of a bum, which is what I am." As a result of his team being ripped apart by the prominent (medium) attack he faced he was unable to submit a match report.)

3 Yakir Elbaz Monkey Business 28 PTS 9 REB. There was a shootout between the SFs in this match and while the scores were even Yakir came away with the victory.

2 Rober Forbes Chelsea Seagulls 28 PTS 6 REB. While normal stars Oliver (2-14) and Jared (3-14) couldn't buy a basket Rober was the one effective Seagull. He was interviewed after the game but no-one could understand what he was saying.

1 Zoltán Bui Monkey Business 18 PTS 13.5 rating. With Monkey Business having their trademark "everyone performs at about the same level" (TM) results Bui stands out purely due to a few extra points and a fair FG%.

As a result of appeal the order has changed to:

3 - Elbaz
2 - Bui
1 - Forbes

Round 10 MVPs (Iwen/Vios/Zyler/Yoda Style)

Sorry about the delay. There was a misunderstanding.

Kynlala Knights vs. Melbourne Goldfish 93 - 74

This could have been the league semi-final if the Goldfish had gotten past Snuffles. However the result would have been the same as the Knights make Melbourne's strength (its outside shooting) into its weakness. With both sides achieving an impressive OD ratings - prominent (low) for the Knights and prominent (medium) for the goldfish it ended up being the big men for each team who were able to actually do some damage.

3 Héctor Pereira Kynlala Knights 24 PTS 14 REB 4 BLK 16.0 rating. While the guards had to battle against the 1-3-1 zone Heck had a free road to the basket and scored very well.

2 Shaun McArthur Kynlala Knights 18 PTS 6 REB 5 AST 14.5 rating. He got his usual 5 fouls (that is 3 games in a ow with 5 fouls but he rarely fouls out, amazing for someone who averages 3 fouls a game) but kept in shutting down the Goldfish perimeter while being the one guard in the match that could still get it done at the offensive end.

1 Don Gresham Melbourne Goldfish 18 PTS 16 REB. The forgotten Goldfish gave us a brief reminder of his former glories as his rebounding was the one bright spot for his team in a miserable performance.

Maggots vs. Rampaging Marmots 49 - 119

The Maggots having sold their entire team and just playing 18 year old trainees were simply no match for the Marmots who were rampaging and who also came good during the week with a clutch win over Steves Crocs to avoid relegation. There was a lot to celebrate in Marmot town.

3 Barry Ó Daire Rampaging Marmots 53 PTS 6 AST 12.5 rating. Irish NT player showed the Maggots a glimpse of their own fture. One day they will be this good.

2 Sam Clune Rampaging Marmots 22 PTS 9 REB. The Marmots favourite old player showed he still has what it takes to contribute and taught the 18 year olds what a veteran can do.

1 Christian Brakenhoff Maggots 23 PTS. The one "veteran" the Maggots kept scored a little in this ugly blowout.

Monkey Business vs. Zazzocalypse 84 - 93

Zazzocalypse won.

3 Jean-Philippe Meneau Zazzocalypse 25 PTS 7 REB 12.5 rating. Scored.

2 Gary Lawrance Zazzocalypse 16 PTS 12 REB 14.0 rating. Rebounded.

1 Shi Deguang Monkey Business 16 PTS 12 REB 12.5 rating. Played better than some.

More details will be provided after the appeal.

Koopasaurus vs. Slam ! 106 - 92

The Kevin Virus is over. After defeating both C-Cat and Iwen in amazing circumstances it was back to reality for Slam !. Facing the amazing Fanis Zoumpadellis with his Inside Shot: legendary, Inside Def.: colossal and Rebounding: tremendous
Koopasaurus elected to go with a 2/3 zome to counter the Slam ! look inside. Meanwhile the Slam ! 3-2 looked like a good choice but a suprise inside isolation by Koopasaurus made the game his to take.

3 Adriano Bassi Koopasaurus 23 PTS 11 REB 6 AST 13.0 rating. He seemed to like being isolated and while it was very close for MVP between him and Wazza, he gets the nod because of his excellent passing.

2 Wazza Kennerley Koopasaurus 23 PTS 5 REB 16.0 rating. The third part of the 2/3 zone Wazza was in sensational form and it was a coin toss between him and Bassi for the MVP.

1 Fanis Zoumpadellis Slam ! 24 PTS 14 REB 12-15 FGS 16.5 rating. Clearly one of the best players in the entire league and super efficient when he got the ball he just didn't do enough for someone worth more than Koopasaurus' whole team as he allowed his team to be slaughtered on the boards 43-34.

Pancakes with Jam and Cream vs. Viral Infections 104 - 89

Have we ever seen a 7 on 7 game involving the Naker Virus before? Once again a very interesting game with the "totally dominant and unbeatable" C-Cat having a dominant 4th qtr after a less than convincing first three being up only 6 at the start of the final qtr. Perhaps it is a sign of the depth of his team compared to the rest of this league. The 1-3-1 zone of the Infections limited PCC but allowed Kuman to have a field day.

3 Maciej Kuman Pancakes with Jam and Cream 32 PTS 23 REB 14.0 rating. The "other" star on the Pancakes was simply sensational smashing his way to the basket at will against the 1-3-1 zone and dominating the boards.

2 Federico Alberto Zama Viral Infections 36 PTS 9 REB 14.5 rating. $ 316 459 center for the Infections was put under huge pressure when the Infections C fouled out after just 19 minutes and did his job keeping the game close for 3/4 until he was overhwelmed in the 4th.

1 Jack Long Pancakes with Jam and Cream 19 PTS 7 REb 5 AST 12.5 rating. Great all around performance by the long time Cream player who was the only other Cream player along with Kuman to have an efficient shooting night.

Da Fat Boy Slim vs. Chelsea Seagulls 88 - 100

Another game that was very close for three quarters but was blown out in the final. The Seagulls even surprised their own coach by playing their PG, SG and SF for 48 minutes each. Da Fat Boy Slim had their tactics right for this match but having sold off a number of their players in a rebuild just didn't have the personel to carry it out.

3 Oliver Ðuričko Chelsea Seagulls 35 PTS 12.5 raing. Oliver scored, scored and scored some more. He also in his spare time kept his opposing Sg to 2-10 shooting for 4 points total in the game.

2 Jörn Bikin Da Fat Boy Slim 22 PTS 19 REB. Bikin again stole Duff Duff's thunder shooting much more accurately, rebounding more, blocking more and turning over less.

1 Rober Forbes Chelsea Seagulls 28 PTS 10 REB 9 AST The canny Scott was perhaps just a little too toght, give the ball away once more and he would have a triple double.

Round 11 MVPs (Iwen/Vios/Zyler/Yoda Style)

FINAL ROUND PART ONE

Koopasaurus vs. Melbourne Goldfish 115 - 91

While it looked tight early on the lack of depth on the Goldfish squad came back to haunt them later in the game when they turned a 1 point halftime lead into a substantial loss. While many of the players did have game shape issues there was a classic shootout between the opposing guards with the Koopasaurus ultimately being more efficient than the Melbourne Goldfish run and gun. The horribly out of shape Goldfish big men who have spent the last two weeks sniffing coke and eating McDonalds while enjoying their offseason also ment that they got destroyed on the boards.

3 Yannik Hohenberg Koopasaurus 31 PTS 6 REB 3 STE 16.0 rating. Any of these three would have been worthy of the MVP but Yannik not only was on the winning team but had 0 turnovers and the highest rating in the match.

2 Xie Guanzheng 40 PTS 8 3-PTRS 13.5 rating. I can't give Xie the MVP being on the team that lost fairly badly, but it wasn't his fault. His torrid shooting was the only thing the Goldfish had to give them a chance. He actually scored more than the next four players on his team combined as well as being the team's best defender!

1 Wazza Kennerley Koopasaurus 31 PTS 9 REB 4 AST 13.5 rating. 4 turnovers was the only blemish on this sensational hero who singlehandedly rescued the entire Koopasaurus franchise from relegation this week.

Zazzocalypse vs. Pancakes with Jam and Cream 101 - 91

The upset of the season, or so it seems. ABBL powerhouse being taken down by a lowly division II team? Well there is a little more to it than that. First the Pncakes have sold off some key players, next they are basking in the warm sun of the offseason, meanwhile Zazzocalypse is in peak form fighting it out with teammate Monkey Biz for a trip to the ABBL next season. Nevertheless it was a sensational efort by Zazzocalypse and yet again a very effective use of the patient offence.

3 Jean-Philippe Meneau Zazzocalypse 32 PTS 7 REB 5 AST 14.0 rating. Not only did JPM stuff the stats sheet his shooting was outstanding from everywhere, 7/9 FTs, 1/2 3-ptrs and an impressive 12/15 FGS.

2 Maciej Kuman Pancakes with Jam and Cream 29 PTS 9 REb 14.0 rating. PCC's recent disapearances has prompted his coach to say, "he is rubbish, he used to be one of the best guards in the ABBL, not any more". Whatever the truth of that in recent weeks the Pancakes have been Kuman's team with another solid performance from the big Pole tonight.

1 Tonko Švorinic Zazzocalypse 29 PTS 13.5 rating. While his poor shooting (11-31) kept him out of the top two spots he still scored a ton and was a solid defender as always.

FINAL ROUND PART TWO

Slam ! vs. Rampaging Marmots 103 - 94

The RabidCamel claimed he was going to win this one, now if he was delusional or not is unclear however what was interesting was that he did actually mount a very solid first half before he totally colapsed in the second. It was the standard tactics in any game involving Slam ! and as usual the big $350,000 man in his final game for the team came hrough with the goods. So long Fanis, we wont miss you but the Slam ! tax collectors will.

3 Fanis Zoumpadellis Slam ! 29 PTS 11 REB 16.0 rating. Still for sale and about to cost his team another $336,951 before he is sold on Monday if you want an express train to financial ruin this could be your opportunity.

2 Józef Urszulewicz Rampaging Marmots 36 PTS 8 REB 13.0 rating. It is like a fire sale around here, this aging yet prodigious jump shooting guard could also be yours for a very reasonable price. Thanks for the great work, Józef , now get out.

1 Klaudius Macko Slam ! 26 PTS 16 REB. Guess what? For sale also. The perfect compliment to Fanis, if you want a PF who can score at will but doesn't like to rebound he can be yours. Suprisingly he outrebounded Fanis in this match and shot very well 12/14.

Da Fat Boy Slim vs. Monkey Business 96 - 119

Monkey Business won.

3 Zoltán Bui Monkey Business 17 PTS. Nice work.

2 Kye Duffill Da Fat Boy Slim 43 PTS. Cool.

1 Shi Deguang Monkey Business 4/6 FTs. Surprising.

Kynlala Knights vs. Viral Infections 25 - 0

Naker tried an even smaller team this week: 0. No MVPs can be given.

Maggots vs. Chelsea Seagulls 43 - 111

The Maggot's 18 year olds were no match for the Seagull's 23 year olds and this was just a question of how big the blowout would be, the Seagulls needed to win by about 90 to pass Koopasaurus on the standings but sadly the coach took all the starters off and they only played about 30 minutes keeping the margin too low.

3 Oliver Ðuričko Chelsea Seagulls 25 PTS 4 AST 13.5 rating. If the coach has kept him on the 'Gulls could have passed ABBL Koopasaurus in the standings.

2 Jared Sherwin Chelsea Seagulls 16 PTS 13 REB 5 BLK 14.5 rating. Perhaps Cyril feels a little upset about this but Jared had 5 less shots to score 2 less points, had more blocks, less turnovers and did it all in less time.

1 Christian Brakenhoff Maggot 32 PTS 9 REB. Their one, their only option. While his shooting percentage was nothing to feel proud about, jack up enough shots and some go in.
