Well what a week. It was special in a couple of ways. Koopasaurus continued his unbeaten run and at 10-0 with 5 weeks to go looks almost certain to be te minor premier. The Virus had his first win of the season, showing the quality of our league considering he is mid-table in division II. And again the Calamari have clawed back a tiny bit against the Sharks. 5 weeks to go and with Naker and Iwen no longer tanking is it possible for them to rise a little. The bad news is the rapid drops of SASTROOPERS and Melbourne Goldfish who were expected to be in the top 4, instead they have both lost two in a row and are languishing mid-table. This is perhaps the mid-level division II factor, teams are keen to avoid the relegation games so do flog their game shape and enthusiasm a bit. 5 weeks to go and there are probably 7 teams still with a chance to take on the mighty Koopasaurus in the final. Who will it be?

No change in the overall scores this week but I have some personal relief. After seeing Koopasaurus lead his team all season from the front while I have struggled mid-pack it is good to finally be at the front of my team. The Calamari had some great wins such as Goldfish trouncing TeamAkuma by over 50 and the Knights slaying The Pwnage but missed some big opportunities when PossumPete lost to the out of form SASTROOPERS and the Titans unexpectedly lost to the Maggots. But the worst one is no shock at all, again the Virus just couldn't get it done this time going down to the lowly Egg. How does he win his league games? Finally Koopasaurus proved that he isn't afraid of leprechauns downing Celtics and remaining unbeaten! He has two tough games in a row with Seagulls and then Goldfish while the playoffs may take a toll on his team. Can he achieve the perfect season? Will it be an all XBB final with Da Fat Boy Slim the challenger again? Four exciting weeks to go.

Wow after hanging around 63-73 most of the season this week was a slaughter. Biggest ever margin at 79-57. Biggest ever change, the gap is +12 points from last week. Obviously the highest and lowest scores ever. The XBB with most of their teams geared for finals simply slaughtered the IV.7 teams who are almost all resting now. Koopasaurus, Da Fat Boy Slim, Maggots, The Pwnage, jw all-stars and Eggplantpopolopolous all have their teams finely tuned while only the Kynlala Knights saw real league action for IV.7 this week. But it is not enough to explain the dominance of the XBB. The XBB have simply put together a better conference this season.

One odd spot: After all the hype and a little anger at times about all the new "super" teams joining our league this season it is funny to see where they are on our ladder.

Well thank goodness it was a more even week than last week with the IV.7 Calamari catching up a tiny bit. However with two weeks to go there are now three things that are clear.
1) Koopasaurus will be the minor champions. A brilliant season capped off by a trip to the ABBL. Did everyone realise they were playing against an ABBL standard team this season? Well done, Koopasaurus!
2) Da Fat Boy Slim will be the minor runner up. While The Seagulls still have a mathematical chance of passing him there is no practical chance. So it liiks like the league finals will yet again be Da Fat Boy Slim against Koopasaurus. Last time it was division II against division III, this time it will be ABBL against division II.
3) The XBB Sharks have been just far too strong this season. With Knights and Infections tanking, Celtics and Chasers struggling and almost every other Calamari team being inconsistent it is clear who the best team is in season three. Well done the XBB Sharks.
4) This round had possible the game of the season and one that may have decided thrid spot on the ladder. Chelsea Seagulls and SASTROOPERS had an epic battle that went to double overtime. In the end Chelsea won, but who was the man of the match? There will be a more detailed writeup in the MVP section.

It is the second last week and to be honest most of the suspense has gone. The final will be Koopasaurus against Da Fat Boy Slim and the XBB Sharks have eaten the IV.7 Calamari. At least the Calamari didn't slip further behind this week despite some poor performances again, this time by the Chelsea Seagulls being whipped by the City Celtics and SASTROOPERS getting revenge by having a narrow win over the Goldfish. The most interesting game was possibly the game between Viral Infections and Kynlala Knights where both used outside isolation and outside box and one to allow some torrid scoring - McArthur with 50 and Nica with 43.

Well what a season of domination it has been for the XBB. With only Cowboys and Seagulls in the top 7 teams the IV.7 Calamari have been thoroughly outclassed. Well done to the champions!

The grand final will again be an all XBB afair with Koopasaurus being very confident of knocking off Da Fat Boy Slim again.

A couple of interesting notes the XBB is planning to have Maggots (6th) represent them in their top 3 next season rather than SASTROOPERS (5th). Even more extreme the Calamari are plannig to run with Viral Infections (14th) instead of Cowboys From Hell (3rd).

Season three will feature a four season competition where the XBB Sharks and the IV.7 Calamari are joined by the Guppies and Team Kevin. Two weeks until tipoff. I can't wait!

So a lucky member of the XBB will win the free 3 months of supporter based on the final score in the grandfinal between Koopasaurus and Da Fat Boy Slim.
