He ain't playing at SF bro. He is more in the team as a defender/passer, most the the PGs aren't much of defenders and not many good guards are there.

Looks like I underestimated the talents of UAE. This just makes my plan of going 4-2 in this round a lot hard but not impossible. The team didn't rebound nearly as good as UAE which was another reason we lost. Plus a few of our players were injured for this game. We were in foul trouble from the start with Fisher fouling out after only 21MIN of game time. UAE played better all round basketball than us.

Gandi Farhan shined again in the loss with 29PTS and 5AST who started instead of Kipling.

So now we are 1-1 in the tournament. :(

Points for MVP of the team for this week:
Gandi Farhan - 3
Stacey Searles - 2
David Kipling - 1

Points so far
1. Gandi Farhan - 6
2. Stacey Searles - 3
3. Haimona Ng - 2
4. David Kipling - 1

I will do better than this in the upcoming games.

:)

It was a very close game. I wasn't able to watch it due to work but the boys have done well and they came up with a win over a very strong Indian team. On paper we were the underdogs but we showed everyone not to underestimate the strength of our small nation. I would say we got the win because we weren't scared to attack the basket 23FT attempts to their 9FT

Gandi Farhan with a monster game 48PTS with 54%FG. He carried the team in the offensive end with the help of Stacey Searles who had 23PTS, 9RB and 8AST, an allround performance from the veteran. Haimona Ng grabbed 18RB and 7 of them were offensive ones and also chipped in with 13PTS.

My only concern with the team is our injuries. 3 players had to sit out because of injuries. I am expecting Wally to be back next week after missing 3 NT games. He will be a good addition for the team.

So now we are 2-1 in the tournament. The next 3 match-ups are gonna be a real test for us, with China coming up next week and then Nippon and finally the Aussies the week after.

Points for MVP of the team for this week:
Gandi Farhan - 3
Stacey Searles - 2
Haimona Ng - 1

Points so far:
1. Gandi Farhan - 9
2. Stacey Searles - 5
3. Haimona Ng - 3
4. David Kipling - 1

All I can say is we got smashed by the Chinese team.

China 116
NZ 60
:(

All I can say is that we never had to chance going in but I thought the boys would of have at least given a good fight. It was hard to single out any player this round because everyone played the same. Nothing outstanding but I am standing behind these boys.

Gandi Farhan and Haimona Ng led the team in scoring with 13PTS each. No one else even had double figures.

I am speechless!

There wont be any points given to anyone this week for the Team MVP award.

Points so far:
1. Gandi Farhan - 9
2. Stacey Searles - 5
3. Haimona Ng - 3
4. David Kipling - 1

Now we are sitting at 2-2. We need a record of at least 4-2 to grantee a spot in the next round. I will do my best to achieve this target.
