I can't even vote on D will, or Rubio, or Westbrook.
Travesty.

He said True point guard. That eliminates d rose and westbrook. So far this season the best true PG would have to be Ricky Rubio.

Right, because in 10 games Rubio has been better than Paul, Rondo, Nash, Calderon, Lowry, etc...????? A 2.35 asst/to ratio says absolutely not. I'll give you D rose and Westbrook as not traditional PG's, but Drose averages about the same asst/to ratio as Rubio and he isn't a "true PG"...so what does that make Rubio?
I'm not saying Rubio hasn't been impressive, but it's far more hype than substance so far. He will be a good one, but to say he has been the best true PG is absurd.
btw, Calderon is averaging 9.4 assists and a 6.25 asst/to ratio. That is almost unheard of as far as asst/to ratio goes...crazy good.

Ok its really hard to try to be sarcastic in the forums. Rubio is not the best PG in the league this season and he's not even the most surprising.(Norris Cole) I commented more to make the point that Drose and westbrook aren't "true PG" aka pass first.

Yeah, definitely detected zero sarcasm. You have to remember what kind of posters we have around here and what kind of ideas there are floating around. I thought you might be a Wolves fan that is overly excited to have more than one good player on your team now! lol

I have a difficult time with people asking about "true point guards" because that is not always something that is easy to define. Many of those that split minutes at pg/sg is because the team does not have a great sg option otherwise. Even though these guys often run the offense and put up 7+ assists per game people will label them as not being a true point guard when they are at least as affective as the other floor generals.
It is like trying to label someone a running QB in football. Steve Young should be considered a running QB because he did it about as much as anyone at the time yet he still was one of the greats.

I'd have to say that derrick rose is the best PG in the game. the pg is supposed to run the floor, and make playsto help the team. Derrick rose does a great job at this. he's always a threat to score and he draws many into the paint. this allows him to dish to someone else, or to draw a foul. If a man can draw many into the paint, and draw attention everytime and either score or get the assist he's a great pG. to be specific the best pg in the leauge. if i were to list my top 10 pgs in order i would say
1.D.Rose
2.Chris Paul
3.Deron Williams
4. Steve Nash
5.Rajon Rondo
6.Kyle Lowry
7.Russel Westbrook
8.Jose Calderon
9.DJ Augustin
10.John Wall
What is d fish doing up there?
Westbrook is good, he averages about 8 ast. a game his only problem is that he hasen't understood the PG role yet, westbrook could be in the top 5 if he just played like a pg and not a sg. It's his 3rd year i beileve so just stay with him, he'll get better. I really like kyle lowry's game! He rebounds, dishes, and scores. He's at six but put him in a better enviroment and give him some more xp, and you'll see his name possibly in the top 3.

You know how you talk about a PG is supposed to make plays, score, get the assist, and run the floor? Well guess what? That's what the Player Efficiency Rating (PER) takes into account among other things. Guess who had a higher PER than Rose? Westbrook. ;) Chew on that...
