I'd go Yates: Starter, Rowe: Backup, and Hannah: Reserve. You might want to think about starting a player with best position SG as PG. These players are horrible. There OD is horrendous. You might want to buy a trainee, or if you don't have the funds train Ismael Dupree. It's gonna be tough to win games with any of these players as your starters.

Any thoughts about these guys? or if I should maybe go train bigs and buy veteran guards? What do you think?

We have a lot of great outside shooters. Unfortunately, we play all our games indoors.

Don't bother training Mercado. His potential is way too low. Sewell is decent but his jump shot is a killer.

You have a couple of options. Your league is really weak so you can try to make the playoffs and promote this season. If you go this route, I would buy veteran post players because they're generally cheaper than guards. Then you can buy some trainees. Don't train any of your current guards as they're all worthless.

Your other option is to call this season a loss and just worry about training, getting players through the draft, and figuring out how the game works. It seems like most D.V players train guards.

You'll probably get more responses to a thread like this on the global help forum, and you'll hear from players with more experience than I have.

Good luck!

Thank you for all the input it was invaluable thanks a lot
Right now I'm looking at buying 1 or 2 5-7k salary guards. Also, I intend to buy 2 more trainee centers to train along side seawall. What do you think?

You'll definitely want to upgrade the guards. One thing you want to try to do is keep the amount of money you're spending to bring in new players relatively low, though -- the more you spend on the transfer list, the less you have to upgrade your arena, which is a big deal.

One possible plan of attack for you would be to go ahead and pick up some cheap but decent players at your non-training positions, some good trainees to develop for the next few seasons, and then scout the draft and plug as much money as you can set aside into improving your arena. You could likely still get into the playoffs with just managing your enthusiasm and game shape, and even if you don't promote, you should be in good shape next season.

But whether you decide to gun for promotion or focus exclusively on training or any combination in between, those guards will need to be shown the door and then pushed out of it, since they can't be trusted to go outside on their own. ;)

That sounds like a fine idea, but you're going to have to fix Sewell's JS at some point. My personal preference is guard training, but there's nothing wrong with doing it the other way too.

The top teams in your division are pretty active and manage game shape and enthusiasm pretty well so your chances of promoting this season aren't great at all. Spend your money wisely. Watch the transfer list for a few days before you start buying players so you can get a feel for appropriate prices.

I wouldn't waste money on the draft this season. You're already halfway in and not guaranteed to get a return on your investment.

Go read the help forum too. There are many helpful players with more experience than us.

Thanks guys I agree that those guards got to go I'm looking at pulling in a veteran point guard for my team to be my star player and one more trainee center before next season.

That is a great point that I'm wasting money on the draft and I'm gonna go down to 1 point a week from the 2 points a week. I still want to see if I can find a half way decent big man to draft free. SO I can fill that 3rd trainee spot.

also should i think about letting my draft points carry over?

I think I'm gonna buy as little as possible and go hard for training so I can promote next season, but Im still gonna give the playoffs a shot to get a few more weeks or training in.

I bought a couple seats but I'm not sure how to adjust ticket prices or seating numbers. It sounds like I just have to play it by ear and avoid selling out. Any advice or tips when it comes to money managing or arena?

Thanks again for all your input already It makes a huge difference

To change your ticket prices click on arena and then scroll down to the bottom. It takes a month for them to change its not instant.

yeah it says it will change by 6/18 but i was wondering what I should change it to? should i just increase the prices by one every time so I can systematically find the perfect price?

I might consider doing two or three points a week in the draft. I remember looking earlier and then forgot the specifics, but isn't half of your league already bot teams and a couple more that are barely active? If you factor in the teams that will finish ahead of you and the bots, if you find a good player, you have a pretty decent chance of ending up with him. Even if you just do the scouting combine and then take a look at some of the tall 18 year olds since you're going for bigs, that might help. Or, as was pointed out, it very well may not, but as long as you're still making money weekly and upgrading your arena, it's not a crippling waste of money.

As far as ticket prices, you'll get a better idea of how to set those when you've had more home games. There may not be enough time to get a good idea by the next price change in a couple of weeks, though. As far as the arena, definitely you'll want at least a couple of luxury boxes added (if you add two, you can charge quite a bit for those). I've just been adding a little here and a little there every couple of weeks since there's no maintenance cost associated with it and no per-construction cost.

I don't have too much to add that hasn't already been said but just wanted to hammer home the point of how important OD is, especially for your guards.

This was my first game in BB: (20484053)

I started the best PG I had who happened to have atrocious OD and as a result I almost got beaten singlehandedly by a sub-3k salary guard (12521797). I immediately went out and bought a PG with respectable OD/passing!
