I'm not sure I agree with that statement. Having an American roster earns merchandise. Which somewhat makes up for the higher price you pay for selection.

Also I did a quick study of your team. It is probably worth 7 million still. Which is what I value my team at. Even with selling a 2.5 million player.

But I do agree with you on your other point. You have to generate massive profits for your strategy in order to advance divisions. This is because you have so much money tied up in players.

Alternatively my money is stored in my arena and homegrown trainees. Where extra cash generated beyond the arena was stored in 33+ cheapo roster. The trouble I have is now I have to sit and wait for more cash whereas most of my money is now tied up in 4 homegrown trainees that would be stupid of me to sell. Even if I sell any 33+ guys I won't get anything for them...$350,000 for a player is chump change in this league.

Well, anyway, congrats on your sale. I wish I could generate some extra money. But neither Burt or Byers are really worth selling.

If I were in your shoes MM I would keep both of those guys and keep training them. As they are homegrown, they can earn you more merchandise. With unlimited potential you can keep training them well into 120K range.

Uhhhhh, I honestly don't think I get that much bonus from merchandise, as I only get 10-15K each week higher than the average merchandise revenue, while I'm also under the effect of promotion

12.5 *14 = 175,000
Maybe you are used to dealing with millions of dollars.

For me an extra 175,000/season is good enough to stay all USA.

Personally I am netting 20-25K over the conference. But that is probably due to homegrown trainees.

I'm only about 15k over the average in merch now as well. I imagine in a couple of seasons once Thayer has been on the team a while that should increase (and hopefully sometime include a boost because of promotion).

The secret is training unique players. You might not think Sliverback's SF is worth what he is asking right now, but unique players with 120+ skill points can go for up to 5-7 Million (although typically 2-3.5 Mil). I was almost surprised to have multiple bidders for Macedonia at 3.2 M. SB's SF is also a defensive beast (how many players can you find with 19-20 OD, 15-16 ID, and 8-9 SB?). If you have the patience to train a player up to 125 skill points, then you can make a few million too (assuming a draftee or not overpaying for a trainee).

Yea unique style of players that are rarely seen on the market are ones that sell for a lot. Supply and demand at its finest.

The sad thing is once you have trained such a player you want to keep him, but the smart thing is to always sell him to get cash once he hits 27/28 years old.

U might have to train him until 26
I would at least play him a few seasons
If u want to max profits
I don't think maxing out a player which takes 5-6 seasons is the way to go

4.5 mil is cost of 3 18 yr old hof trainee
I know he got great D
Let's say he totally covers opponents sf and limit him to 7 PTs 25% shooting
It doesn't take much D on the counter part to limit him to 10 pt 40% shooting (someone u can buy on tl for a few hundred k)
The way the GE is designed
Only big man scores over 50%
The guards are lucky to break 42% at high level
