And then my team fell apart with reckless abandon.
Something we are getting pretty good at.

Let me know if you find a cure for that.

My team was pretty good at pulling off victories up until about five games ago.
That coincides with when I started playing too many minutes in my cup run.

I think in Saturday night's game, my guys actually played their faces off in the first half. Continuing that for the win would have been amazing, but our performance in the second half was more a return to reality than a big surprise.

Gosh, no, I wouldn't know anything about anything like that or anything.

The funny thing is that I had been worried for a while that this last game against you might end up costing me a shot at HCA, but I apparently made sure that didn't happen by blowing it all by myself. On the other hand, I'll get to raise a final four banner and release a press announcement to that effect, which really means more public shaming for Morgan Menard, and in the end, that's what it's all about. Yes, that's what it's all about, don't let those Hokey Pokey enthusiasts tell you otherwise.

Wait... well, hopefully I lose to you in convincing fashion so the league underbosses don't determine that you are my rival again for the third consecutive season, in the off chance that you don't promote.

I guess I could try starting my four scrubs (they are quite a motley bunch) and my awful backup PG against you, playing Patient/FCP, and going TIE, but I still don't think you'll be able to make up the point differential on SFW playing against Bullish Mentality, the most expert tanking team I've ever seen (accidental win against newbie notwithstanding).

Big time props my friend. If you didn't GDP that you win. So very impressive. So very good luck in the playoffs man. You have earned it so very badly.

I've earned it very badly badly and also managed it very badly. ;)

My laptop died last week, so I was watching the game on my phone. I got pretty much everything I wanted - his SF was contained, the big men didn't dominate offensively (other than on the boards), and it came down to him needing a guard to do enough to beat me. And last night his SG did. Maybe another night he wouldn't have, but on the other hand there's no reason whatsoever that Klein should have been scoring like that offensively, so maybe another night I lose by a bigger margin with lower total scores. In any case, that's the way I like to go out of the Cup, and so now hopefully I can finally have the postseason run I need to get out of here.

Congrats on the great Cup run. So very hard for a non-NBBA team to make the finals and we can see from that travel call at the end that the refs clearly protect the NBBA teams.

I think you are still the clear favorite for the the postseason, but I also think it is shaping up to be a fairly competitive postseason all around. Should be an exciting couple of weeks.

I would complain about the refs, but they bailed out Honeycutt when he decided to drive in the last two minutes that let me tie it back up at 90. And after the first period, I thought Busch was a goner but nobody really got into foul trouble. I ended up just not able to make a stop in the first half of the fourth quarter, and not able to hold on to the two point lead I had late long enough to get into a FT vs 3s battle, where I think I would have been able to put it away. I'll take it.

We'll have to see on the postseason. I probably was a clear favorite at 22-0 last season too, but that first game in the Finals is one of those that will haunt this team forever. At least now I won't have to worry about a Cup game any more, so I won't be constrained in my lineups as much, but likewise I would not be surprised in the least to see the Cantaloupes knock me out if they finish fourth either. The playoff race on this side is crazy close.

Come on, we all know that all games are only decided in the last seconds and nothing that happened prior to that truly matters! The refs stole this one from you with that ridiculous traveling call!

And actually, if the Cantaloupes win their next game, there is a chance they end up in third and you'd be facing BHT or TF - whoever might win the point differential if all three teams end up at 13-9. Which certainly seems possible. On the other hand, and I'd say less likely, if BHT and TF both win big, you could be facing Milwaukee to open the playoffs. As you said, the race is crazy on your side.

Less so in the Great 8, as the teams are already decided. But if Redbull upsets JC, or one of the new teams pulls out a surprise win, the 2-4 seeding can certainly change. And while SF is the favorite, the right tactics, a few bounces, and bit of luck could land any one of the four in the finals. I know my team is no where near ready to promote, and I've already made adjustments based on next season's training plans, but that also means I have nothing to lose in the playoffs and can take chances.

Oh man, that was too close (just reviewed the play by play). Nice comeback in the second half of the 4th.
Shultz' back to back 3's were quite clutch.

Incidentally, the playoff games that have been calculated are based on the standings after the 21st game (since that still hasn't updated). Marin's aware of it and it'll be fixed. I wouldn't have minded drawing TF now that he's sold off four players, though. ;)
