Thank you, I am pretty much in the same situation in my division 4 league. The average weekly income for our league is around -30k, and I get +30k, and I still figure to be at least near the playoff picture this season. I figure that as long as I can bring in a nice profit this season, and continue to expand my arena, I can compete for a league championship next season.

The league averages for this season haven't been updated yet.. It says everyone is in the negative because the algorithm has factored in attendance revenue yet.

Fair enough. LA Athletics won our league (III.1) last year with a weekly salary of ~400k. I don't know how he built that kinds of war chest, but not a lot of teams can do that in D III. Kudos to him.

LA is in my division this season, and is among my early favorites to make the playoffs.

I don't know how he afforded that club in III, but making 40+ transfers in the past 14 weeks may have had something to do with it. ;)

That's a fine plan. And without going to much further OT and turning this into a mentor thread (and I'm probably the last jackass on BB that should be mentoring anyone, but PM me if you want), you should probably consider investing more into courtside than bleachers. I'm shutting up now.

Wow, this thread got quiet. I guess we found a new way to close threads...just let darky give money management advice.

I know there's been lots of fun discussion about which DIII league(s) Jelme promoted from, and how lousy DIII.1 manages their money, but I want to get serious for a minute. I want to make a completely unbiased statement of fact: DIII.5 is the strongest DIII league.

Of the twelve that reported back on the TV contracts thread ((http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/forum/read.aspx?thr...)), III.5 is fifth.

DIII.3 on the other hand...

I went to your league page, and obviously III.3 is strong, but what's up with the early cup losses? Your cup game seemed winnable to me.

Nevermind, I suppose you were trying to manage your GS, and are sacking the cup in favor of league wins for promotion.

My scrubs are scrubs, and was just hoping to fool the game into giving me a win with em while TIE until i was able to back fill the bench, but it wasn't meant to be..

i will miss the enthusiasm boost, but thats about it. Now I get to focus on the u21 guys training and trying to sneak out some more wins in league.

hmm, I know the TV contract is a factor of the average salary for each league, but does anyone know the exact calculation? I'm just wondering how much I cost my league by selling my $57K SG the week before the TV contract came out.

I know the BBs probably won't like this, but I think it would be cool to have a DIII league vs DIII league tournament. Since DIII teams don't have a realistic chance to win the Cup, it might be a fun alternative, kind of like the Big East/ACC Challenge. And yes, I'm still not convinced that DIII.3 is better than DIII.5. :P
