This is where I will probably disagree with everyone else, I think when you start out you should spend almost all of your money on trainees and close to nothing on established players. I wish I had! Every new player gets $250,000 as well as an extra $50,000 bonus a week for the first few weeks.
You can pick up random crappy 33 year olds that can kick butt in division IV for less than $50,000 later and not have to worry about their salaries all season. Instead that starting money should be used to get an outstanding trainee and Justs my $221,000 man isn't even outstanding.
But if I had single position trained him from day one (he has had 100% two position training and hasn't gotten 48+ every week as he is no 5 in importance in my training) he would probably be something like this at the end of the season.
