First this is normally what we do for people in our federation. Your team not so helpful hey?

The three trainees.

1) Elram Varsano (20140887)
Really disappointing. Yes he is 18 and great height but he has low potential and looks like someone that was just drafted with one pop in passing. Only two primaries respectable at this stage is really bad. Horrible secondaries Grade D.

2) Baltrus Gaidulevicius (18108941)
Very similar to Elram and a year older. The potential is much better but he is nearly 20 and most would be upset with their 18 year old looking like that at this stage. Grade E.

3) John Norman (18868461)
Your original player I assume, so you must continue to train him and the good news is he is probably the best of these three, but only just. The defence is fantastic but everything else looks a long way behind. Grade C.

I am not boasting, I am actually a really bad trainer, always done two position training and often mess it up. But to compare here are my two 19 year olds.

Mu Hongyun (16764151) Shooting Guard
Weekly salary: $ 9 837
Age: 19
Height: 6'6" / 198 cm
Potential: allstar
Jump Shot: prolific Jump Range: strong
Outside Def.: proficient Handling: respectable
Driving: inept Passing: average
Inside Shot: average Inside Def.: mediocre
Rebounding: average Shot Blocking: mediocre
Stamina: respectable Free Throw: awful Experience: atrocious

Mu is in the top 10 of all 19 year olds in Australia. Obviously the boy can already shoot. His solid set of secondaries make him useful in any situation and he can play PG/SG/SF if needed but is only good as a SG. Needs to work on his defence and passing but had 1 and 2 pops in them so far this season. Grade B+.

Justs Saukans (16948525) Small Forward
Weekly salary: $ 8 096
Age: 19
Height: 6'1" / 185 cm
Potential: allstar
Game Shape: strong
Jump Shot: prominent Jump Range: average
Outside Def.: prominent Handling: average
Driving: proficient Passing: average
Inside Shot: atrocious Inside Def.: strong
Rebounding: average Shot Blocking: average
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: pitiful Experience: atrocious

The Latvian U21 coach has expressed interest in Justs. He has solid defence for a 19 year old at prominent and strong as well as a good JS. He will always have a big issue because of his IS that may prevent him from being an effective SF so perhaps he will be a SG with good secondaries. He needs more of almost everything. Grade B.

As you can see neither popped this week so I hope for both to pop in OD next week. It will be Justs' 3rd week of pressure since his last pop and Mu's 4th.

not to brag but venizelos at least proficient in all 5 guard skills except for DR which I never train so it remained at Resp at the end of 19. OD was 12 and JS was 10

You should brag, that is a fantastic job and that is why he made the U21 team of one of the biggest BB nations, an exceptional effort. If I assume that he started with everything at an average of average that means 4 pops in JS, 3 in JR, 6 in OD, 3 in HA and 3 in PA (+/- those that were higher or lower and + those that were higher than proficient which you said was the minimum) which is simply incredible.

This is why I said the guys posted here were way behind where they should be. They look to have been trained at about 1/4 of this speed.

Love the age, love the potential, love the salary, love the height for a SF/PF, love the secondaries but at nearly the end of the season and one stat greater than respectable it makes me worried. My salary calculator tells me that in this entire season of training you have moved his salary from $4 1/2k to $6k. Stick with him and he could be someone special some day, really special, maybe on the senior NT. For now, B!

Remember Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team, so would Garrie.

I'll give him an A- and nickname him the Abbadon.
I would love to draft a player like that cos the skill sets, height and potential are just perfect for a SF trainee.

He could very well compete with adam_guns SF for a senior NT role in the near future.

You purchased your trainees for $520,000 and $221,000... I don't have that kind of money to spend on trainees considering my team is all of 8 weeks old. Comparing the trainees of a div 2 team that has been around for 5 seasons with a div 4 team that has been around 5 minutes is a bit ridiculous.

Elkram may have lower potential - but he can still reach a salary for around $35k, which is all I really need to start with. He's not going to be in my team forever, but I need to start somewhere, without spending a fortune on a player with perfect potential, perfect height and every secondary skill known to man.

Baltrus will train quickly. I'd much rather start a couple of levels behind and build from there, rather than spend much more money for a few extra levels of skill.

I started with John and he's coming along nicely. I trained outside def first, so obviously everything else is way behind. He won't take long to catch up though, I'm a patient person and am trying to build my players slowly.

Obviously having trainees with great potential and fantastic secondaries would be good, but I'm not prepared to spend all my money on them this early in my buzzer career. I'm in no hurry here... I don't need to have the best players, I'm happy to wait, spend my money wisely and train slowly.

That is exactly the type mentality you need to be successful at BB. You have a bright future ahead of you =P
