yeah its sad to see him go
i trained him and became pretty good anchor down low
but i figured if i am not competing this season
i can save another 110K * 6 weeks
so that would give me 2MIL to find someone replaceable next season

seller's market begins at the 2nd or 3rd week of the season and ends at 2nd to the 4th week after the all star break. - give or take a week. - i think that is the best time to sell players.

it begins at the 2nd or 3rd week because i think more people are looking for 18 year rookies than veterans.

after that we go into a buyer's market. - where you can pick up players or staff at good prices.

it's at its peak after the trade dead line. which makes sense because alot of people know where they are going to finish in there league and want to dump players and staff to increase profits.

Sorry, I'm a little late to this and a little confused. A buyer's market is typically when everyone (else) is selling and a seller's market is when everyone (else) is buying. Are you saying it's smart to buy in the first half of the season and sell during the second half?

I've always been under the impression that it's best to sell just before the transfer deadline and buy just after. This has changed a bit (moved forward a week or so) because of the GS-transfer changes. I'm not saying you're wrong, just trying to understand your ideas better to up my game.

Maybe i did not state it right.

But i think is best to sell during the first half of the season (when more people are buying).

And buy during the end of the season (when more people are selling).

I think people are competitive until they dont have to be, and play for position (1 to 5 spots)

The 6 to 8 spots are the danger spots, because of the reglegation games and demotion.

Once mangers are in the 1 to 5 spots, they will sell off there players and staff and increase team profitability. The exception would be if your going for a championship.

I am not saying that all mangers do this but i think quite of few mangers do, and i think that's the reason why there is huge player price changes in the transfer market.

If i sell - i try to sell my players before the all star break just to be o the safe side.

Holy Crap... My cup run just got real... I was hoping for a couple more Div IV teams before getting thrown in the cage with an NBBA team.

apropos of nothing:

no better way to kill time before a game than read Hrudey's exchanges with Mr. Glass.

". . . He says his name's William but I'm sure
He's Bill or Billy or Mac or Buddy
And he's plain ugly to me
And I wonder if he's ever had a day of fun in his whole life"

I'd be remiss not to ask you:
Were you drinking beer at noon on Tuesday? In the bar that faces the giant car wash?

So, yeah, that Sheryl Crow riff cleared the room.

I'm still in the Cup. I don't get it. I'm not complaining though.

Everyone probably drove their shiny Datsuns and Buicks back to the phone company. The record store too.

Nice going. You're the last remaining team in the Big 8 too.
Haven't been paying much attention to the league lately. But am kind of surprised that the McFlabbies, playing at home & using extra effort, only beat me by 3 points. So that might bode well for you if you make the finals?

Anyway, it seems like almost all the BB forums have completely died, not just this one. Noticed that a lot of people I know on BB are dropping supporter too. I'm barely even logging in once between games myself sometimes. (for example just saw saturday's results a few minutes ago & it's tues. morning.)
