Second Team:
Smallfries II
Well, now that this three game road trip is behind me I think it's about time to load up and be competitive. May have to stray away from all American a bit to get the players I need/want

So this is my second list of worst to best teams in the league. Since the best I can do is piss off a playoff time by beating them I can fairly evaluate potential league leaders.

From worst to best with seeding:
8 Tictac(down 1): Clearly looking to own the first pick in the Season 27 draft
8 Clerics (down 1): They obviously don't give a crap. They won't be in Div III long. They have to have close to 4M saved.
7 Owls (up 2): With beating Tictac they are 1-6. Paying salary floor right now.
7 Thumpers (down 5): Not sure what is going on with this team. I'm hoping they decide they don't want to play in Div II anymore.
6 Smallfries (no change): With only 4 players above 10K they look to be locked and loaded for 6th place.
6 Mcfatties (down 1): Team could have been 5-2 to start. But two injuries led to close losses. With roster additions to other teams they look locked into 6th place.
5 Pistons (down 1) : They just added a bench player for cup purposes I'm sure.
5 Warriors (up 2): With their recent addition of an NT USA player, they are clearly looking to stay in Div II. They should still have plenty of cash if they are looking to add more players. Still adding to arena which is a good idea in their situation.

The playoff teams:
4 Lethargy (down 2): They look playoff bound. But with everyone in their rotation being members of the stone-age they will likely not be moving up to 3rd.
4 Silverbacks (down 6). I was completely wrong about this team. From the looks of it they have some balance issues. They have an expensive roster, but its still somewhat short on the bench. Losing to the Snowbirds while playing a 5 man rotation doesn't earn them many points in my book.
3 Snowbirds (down 1): They were lucky to beat the Silverbacks. Unfortunately their best player out for 2 weeks hurts. They will likely lose at least 1 winnable game due to this enough to push them down a notch.
2 Rabbits (up 3): With a recent victory over GS they look to be solidly placed as the second seed in the Division. Picking up a 130,000 salary player certainly helps their chances against the Big 8.
3 Clogs (down 1): I really feel for them losing in OT. What makes me place them here is there schedule vs the Great 8. They do have the most favorable schedule for the Big 8 games though which does matter as well. They could still land in 1st.
2 Mammals (up 5) : They are in first place in the Big 8 thanks to an OT win over Clogs. However, having to win with OT at home certainly shows that they may have a slightly worse team than the Clogs. I love the schedule they have vs the Great 8.
1 Yuck (up 2): Having the mammals at home later this season helps their chances but having to play the clogs away hurts. 1-3 in the Big 8 is pretty much anyone's guess. An injury will probably decide the fate.
1 GS Warriors (up 1): They are #1 by default. Simply because the Big 8 have three teams that will likely counter each other.

Tons of balance at the top. Key injuries will knock out some from earning the top spot. The top 5 teams IMO still have a chance to have the best record at season end.

If it comes down to just schedule, I'm in the driver's seat; I lost to MM and Yuck on the road by a bucket but I get them both at home to close the season. After interconference, in fact, I have four home games, and two of my three road games are against Nome and TTS. A lot of it may come down to Cup concerns - after we play Tuesday, I get the top four teams in the Great 8 back to back to back to back. Unfortunately, teams usually throw their road games, and the two I have in that stretch are against Jack Rabbits, who are already out, and Silverbacks in a TV game.

Of course, home vs. road is just one small component of how things actually turn out. Last season Diorite and I split our regular season series, both of us winning on the road. Yuck beat me at my stadium at the end of last season as well, on equal effort.

The good news for me is that I've got the remainder of the season to try things out with my lineup, and now that Thayer's in acceptable GS I can get a real estimation of how the team will perform come playoff time. In that sense I'm far better off than last season, where I was flailing around trying to get something to work and ended up selling a couple of players off and then going on a good postseason run. At this point I just need to figure out why my turnovers have been so much higher than my average and get an idea of how some of the pieces fit together when I run different offenses.

It's all about how you enjoy this game. I personally like training and owning NT players the most.

I enjoy advancing up divisions and training players.

But it seems I will be in a waiting line for awhile in this division. So I will have to turn my attention towards something else.

Getting near time to hit the recycle bin on some of these players on my roster. Most were one season rentals anyway but the injury has hampered my ability to make any moves.

Hhhhmm I feel like creating a poll.

I'd expect you to beat me at your place, but then again, I might not continue try to train my players during that game also. :)

The way I've always looked at inside iso is that it gets your best inside scorer the ball out around the three point line and everyone else moves out of the way. If your inside scorer can't drive and doesn't have great handling or passing, it's a dead end.

Of course, I've also been very ineffective with it the times I've tried it and my big guys do have those skills, so I dunno what makes it work well. Yuck's had a lot of success with that tactic, though.
