Ok moment of silence over for the under hand dealing day trading king of bb.
only at the end did he develop some sort of conscience.
i think he left the game because the way he was winning wasnt fun to him anymore.
When you scheme, make skillfull economic purchases, and use that to be a player, its one thing.
When you are renting 300K + players mins before a game then dumping them, i can imagine there is a thrill in it the first few times, but after a while it has to get boring...and quite frustrating for people running responsible rosters and training talent over rently farmed players.
Sharman won because of how he played the transfer market. Even he had to get tired of buy big, buy guard, buy passer, Look inside.
So it is what it is. Sharman is the reason Puka Puka, Maruyama, Small Town, Five Arrows, and many other teams that couldnt get a share of the pot quit.
there was a time when Sharman had 4\5 teams right on his level...and he out did them with timely rentals on the transfer market. and it turned many people in Japan off of the game. at the end, i think even he realized how his selfishness hurt bb japan. His using the transfer market as a cash machine made it so other teams couldnt compete.
So we can talk about Sharman as great, but greedy is more like it. His monopolizing of the cup and the jbbl title strangled bb japan. So not to say good riddance, but at least with the league now, its a decision of if we want to pay the money to rent the players to beat wolph.
This games is not meant to be run with 1.2+ million dollar weekly rosters. Yet no salary cap, so luxury tax, only recently a penalty for selling players quickly after buying.
Im not saying i hated the guy or anything...but there was a considerable community of people that took issue with how Sharman rose to power. The Japanese NT team has been dogmeat....for ages. he never took interest in properly training a Japanese player. He never took intrested in finishing off a player with potential by training them properly. He jacked up Furuzawa...and jacked up Soichi Hara.
He never shared the titles to allow another Japanese team to become a power. He is pretty much the reason why the bb japan has not gotten any stronger.
imagine if he would have allow just 1 other team to win the cup/jbbl each season starting from season 5 to season 14 or so. from season 7 Swoosh, Stunners, and YC have seen the JBBL turn ALL THE WAY OVER...more than once.
a couple of bones would have change the culture of bb japan.
so hey, he got all he could get...but by doing it the way he did, we lost a lot of good managers that played the game "the right way".
and in the end, BB Japan lost...and is still losing.
