In fact, Lyon, in France is the gastronomic capital of the world, followed by Lima in Peru. Both of these places I have been to and enjoyed some dishes to die for.

The French take such pride in their food, it really is incredible. I was with a French girl for 3 years. Beautiful, but too bad she was such a prude...

Breaking news: Due to the recent spate of violence on Perth streets, the Federal government has issued a travel advisory warning, advising against all non-essential travel to Perth.

Is this real? I'm going there in the school holidays.

Well I have been to France several times and while I am sure if you are wealthy the food is great, for me on a tight budget it was a constant disappointment. Fishy had a French girlfriend for a while, I remember being a little surprised the first time when we took her to the beach and she said, "Why are they all wearing tops, what is wrong with them?" She then stripped down to what was little more than a bit of dental floss. It was nice but a little difficult when it is your friend's girlfriend.

Lima? Serious? Once again maybe it was a matter of budgets but I ate much better in Cuzco than in Lima. In Lima 90% of our efforts went towards not being murdered.

Been to France twice. Both times all I could afford to eat was baguettes and they are the arsehole of the bread universe. Hard, stale, think you ordered ham and salad, you get salami and cheese.

Did like the beaches though. The beach at Nice, despite being pebbles was great. Such clear water right near the city square was a great. The views there were good too.

I have a French Bakers 3 shops down from my work, and the food is amazing, but didn't get it in France. Must have been looking in the wrong place. Great country though. Loved it.

It should be, considering the number of unprovoked violent attacks in the past 2 weeks.

Where are you staying, what do you plan on doing, how long are you here for, etc?
