The only issue I have with that is there is no clear cut guide to how each tactic operates. There is a lot of experimenting required. I bought Truong. Gave him a good fair look, he didn't work and I move on. I swap players out fairly frequently not for making cash but for trying to figure out tactics. That shouldn't be taken away.

Definitely. I do this all the time. Testing out which skills on other players would best suit my core team. I bought a guard about 2 weeks ago and it's still in the experimental phase with how he fits and if he's worth his contract. Every league for every season is always changing. The players that might have worked well last season, might struggle with the next season. It's figuring out what skills on certain guys I no longer need and what skills I need more of.

There's also the disastrous case of injuries. You can't lock rosters. A starter goes down with a 4-5 week injury? Well, either you sell/fire him and replace him, or just poor luck has screwed your entire season. That's not fair.

I agree that the salary floor is too low. The NBBA floor is basically the same as your average DII team. Although my recollection from time spent in DII makes it think it would be a slightly below average DII team. I don't think that's right.

However, the attendance penalty for teams that DON'T relegate is too harsh. Season 23 I went 9-13, was the 6th seed and won the relegation series. Next season I was 1st seed, went 17-5 and had terrible attendance. I kept thinking my attendance would pick up as I won more and more games, won the rival games, won the TV games, but that never happened. I was always below league average.

What you did the prior season has waaaay too much affect on your attendance the following season.

'cept i can't imagine any player being head and shoulders above the norm, like Le Bron or MJ or Bird.

If you want it to be as close to realistic basketball, than why are you advocating for hard caps? Look at how much money the Brooklyn Nets spent to get that roster. Or how much money the Lakers were spending the year prior.

The owners actually wants a hard cap
The players union resisted
The nets spent 190mil on payroll, I don't know the net income it generated this year, but do u know the franchise value increases by 500mil?
I see BB teams making 0 profits to compete

Yea I think that is the biggest issue with the game. If you are making a championship run you make very little money. I guarantee those in the NBA that are in the top 5 or 10 in the league make a lot of money on merchandise and tv. I think thats what needs changed in this game. Teams need to make more money in merchandise and TV.

Well if you just increase merch and tv then teams will spend it all and we end up with more expensive rosters and a bigger gap with tankers making more money. The only way you could do that is with a hard cap.

well, the boost would be for those teams winning, and I completely think a hard cap should be put into place. I have always been the team to have outrageous salaries until lately. I always ran at a negative cash flow weekly for, literally, 5 seasons in a row. I only stayed afloat because of buying low and selling high. I think the hard cap needs to be placed so that teams cant buy a bunch of players with high salaries, but it wont eliminate the buying and selling either. Plus, if you also give a boost in income to those winning, even win they reach the cap, they can make money to then put back into the economy by buying trainees and stuff.

Timing the economy and training is the most important part of this game. Well once you have a stadium anyway.

The level of planning needed if you don't have 4-5 million in the bank is a challenge.

Cash reserves simplify the game too much. All you have to do is buy a few 150K+ players a few weeks before the playoffs to trash the competition (at our level anyway).

Once I get to that level of money- watch out. Cause I know how to spend it

The question becomes simply ... when to spend?

That's the issue I have with tanking. Its too easy to accumulate a pot of gold.

However, I don't think it ruins the game. This game is fundamentally sound for the most part. That's why I enjoy it here.

The one good suggestion I could think of was that teams that relagate have to pay the teams that advance. 4 teams relagating have to pay the money the team that advances gets for winning the league. That seems a fair proposition...but its really not that damaging to the last place team anyway. Having a lottery for the top 6 draft picks would be a good idea as well. Those two changes would alter the landscape somewhat.

the game just become more competitive and fun with a hard cap
otherwise you simply get a cycle of top 8 teams burning cash and bot 8 teams getting loaded up for it seasons after
i became #1 seed simply b/c i saved some money last season .... and i will either make or break it
b/ci wil have no money to support this roster next season
and then i will have to save another season or two ....
there is really no mid ground unless u play this game for YEARS and train some super eff roster urself
