I have had some of my students in that situation and my advice is while the iron is hot pretend it is an exam and sit down and do it again as best you can under exam conditions. Just do it! But on the computer naturally. Then a little bit of editing, add the quotes and statistics you couldn't remember and it is done. Probably not as good as a carefully crafted piece worked on for days but probably still containing the same ideas and arguments even if the evidence isn't as detailed.

Better than driving yourself insane trying to do it again exactly the same as the first draft.

well im downing some coco pops at the moment, so i guess i dont always do. but when i pull all-nighters to do a 4000 research report i tend to eat shit those mornings. BB doesnt help with those ones either
