I thought the salary deal with 5th place was fixed so that it's actually better financially to place 3rd or 4th now.

Ouch - my PG injured in the first 37 seconds!

...and my backup PG injured with barely 2 minutes passed! AAAAAAHHH!!!

...and Spencer fouled out in 25 minutes. The playoff game engine certainly makes things interesting.
