I don't like about 99% of this. I think one of the big reasons that we have had so much success has been the solid core teams, so no matter what happens I think the core XBB (Koop, SAS, DFBS, JW and TA) should stay together and the core IV.7 (Seagulls, Virus, Goldfish, Cowboys, PossumChasers {and I am sure we would love to keep Knights and Titans too}) should stay together.

Koop if you had to choose between playing with C-Cat or SAS, DFBS, JW and TA would you really ditch your mates? Naker would you? I wouldn't. And as far as I can see there is 0 point having JW, TA, PP and Pancakes in the same league, those games will be a waste of everyone's time.

C-Cat I think it is great to have you here on the forums. Iwen was our most prestigious contributor (although Dire has done him GM stuff from time to time) but you would be an amazing addition to our discussions, but in my opinion you are too amazing for our actual games. Would you really enjoy beating the Possum Chasers by 150 points one week and then Naker Virus by 200 the next?

This is my vision of the future: 3 private leagues.

1) Tea Cup :Ultra Serious ABBL and top division 2 teams. No jokes allowed, no expectations that anyone will contribute to the forums, just ultra serious brutal competition.
2) Fish Bowl :Fun but competetive league. Middle division 2 teams to upper division 3 teams. Lots of fun, people that like chats and talking on the forums and discussing strategy and jokes.
3) Fish Bowl Division 2: (we need a better name, maybe the Dental Plate, the Rubber Spoon, the Bouncy Ball, I don't know): For up and coming teams, mostly division 3 maybe the occasional struggling 2 or powerhouse 4. Good people that want to learn the game and get better.

But the other structure that could be ok is the one suggested by Koop.

1) Tea Cup.
2) Fish bowl East (two teams)
3) Fish Bowl West (two teams)

There would be 4 Fish Bowl teams, I guess XBB, IV.7 and two others all competing for the fish bowl. We can easily make a combined ladder (using my pitiful excel skills).

If everyone was patient enough and wanted it we could also have a finals series at the end, I think (maybe someone can let me know) you can make a 8 man tournamnet style pl, that would run 3 weeks and be our "finals". Just an idea.

Or we could just have the winners decided by the ladders.

We would need two strong managers to be the leaders of the two new teams.

Better or worse?

hahah yes very true, being associated / teamed up with an ABBL team would be awesome, but playing with XBB would be 2nd to none.

Can we at least get a list together for the teams who will be competing in Fish Bowl II first? Then the rest will decide for themselves right?

I like the idea of having the teams of 4 and splitting them amoung the Leagues according to your strength, I do agree that there is a butt load of Rivalries and that is what keeps the league strong. But with the amount of people people wanting to join, the continuing growth and the need to keep it competitive for everyone people will be moved.

I did like the idea of pairing 1 - 32, 2- 31 etc together and joining them to get pair and the eventual teams. But the positive i see coming out of this is the fact that alot of teams that want in are lower level teams (excluding the guys from the TEA cup) so i would think with proper planning you will be able to keep the core guys together and duking it out for seasons to come.

As i said before, i believe that the personal championship is fun and will be important however i think getting your team the constructors championship in a team effort would be just as good or even more satisfying

And quick question, how would we rank the teams? Country Rank? Or would we ask Dire really nicely to act as an Independent Commission to conduct research for us

Yeah the idea i had in mind was rank the 32 teams from 1 to 32.
ranks 1 to 16 are in PL A
ranks 17-32 are in PL B

But i know a lot of people in the XBB dont like that idea of not being able to play with each other.. they dont like the idea of being relegated to play in a different PL.

So maybe we can have like XBB, currently have 5 core members, with an addition 3 members who we will choose as we see fit.
iv7 with yoda and his crew.. and they will choose as they see fit.
Then two more captains come up and choose their 8 players each. say PL C and PL D

then maybe rotate the teams aruond every second year e.g
season 15 xbb versus iv7
PL c versus PL D
season 16
xbb versus PL D
iv7 versus PL C

I agree mostly with yodabig, I can see where he's coming from and I also don't want to disrespect to anyone idea. Just hoping everyone would keep things simple and practical "KISS".

Instead of breaking up and mixing up teams. Why don't we just keep 2 sides, the light and the dark side (something that the new comers can relate to).

like yodabig said, we'll have 2 divisions or 3 if we need to. People can choose if they want to be on the dark side aka XBB aka Sharks. Everyone has a choice of joining the division AND SIDE they want, if they don't give us their preference now OR they will be on the Free Agent and will be drafted by us at the end of the season (XBB gets first pick because we're coming first).

For balancing the competition in each division, we'll have a total salary cut off. say, 350k+ will go to div 1, 349k and under go to div2 unless they chose to be in div1. e.g, possum might want to be in div1 but have to consider if he or she will enjoy getting whipped every week by c-cat and others.

Regarding to our current mvp and weekly ladder, we'll have 2 ladder ranking, 1 for div1 and another for div2. at the end of the season, we'll determine which side wins by point difference of both div1 and div2.

The key here is give people options to choose, we don't want it to be restrictive and reduce the bond and fun we have now. hope this make sense....

Adding to this, 2 divisions should be using 1 forum (1 thread), do not separate the 2 divisions.

something like what you said, you can rank people using the BB ranking or you can rank people by total salary. up to you guys.
I don't mind XBB go to div 2, aslong we get to whip some of the IV.7 a$$ hahaha


P.S I like starwars name since we're all geeks here, XBB will be the dark side, from all the dirty tricks we've done and with all the anger inside of us.
