Every team, no matter how good they are, needs some degree of good fortune on their way to winning the championship. And this good fortune always seems to spark the question 'what if?'... especially when mllama's team is involved because his finals appearances have always been filled with drama.

Season 8 (CoolCats defeated Black Label): What if Felborg didn't disappear and go scoreless for BLS? What if CoolCats Isaac never got injured in the first quarter to begin with? And what if BLS's overall offence didn't choke in the final minute (two TO's, two bricked threes)

Season 11 (Pancakes defeated Lewisham): What if Couto Costa bricked 'The Shot'? What if Pancakes rookie Raines never made the steal leading to it? What if Gafa and Long never got injured? And what if Lewisham had one more win that regular season?

Season 14 (WA defeated Lewisham): What if Goodall made the go-ahead basket after WA's Ropela choked (6 straight misses at the FT line)? What if Lewisham don't give away the 17 point first quarter lead? And again, what if Lewisham had one more win!?

Season 19 (Lewisham defeated Koop): What if Whitebeard never temporarily sold up? What if Radford didn't get injured in the semi-final? What if Lewisham's Leszek doesn't find his shooting form in time for game 3? And what if Koop's Wazza didn't choke!?

Season 20 (Whitebeard defeated Lewisham): What if Lewisham's Hahi made the buzzer-beater shot at the end of game 3? WHAT IF LEWISHAM HAD ONE, MORE, WIN!?

And now, Season 24: What if Koop never changes his mind about selling up? What if Chelsea's Melmeth doesn't go 0-5 and get injured in the semi-finals? What if Koopasaurus doesn't have an outstanding night at the free throw line (33-38)? And what if Hahi didn't light the old flame and record a double-double against Stone Slashers?

Season 9: Coolcats versus Lewisham Wombats - What if my only decent big hadn't got injured in the first minutes of the opening game of the series, ruling him out for the series and costing me any chance of a win.

I have a lot of luck when it comes to these series don't I?

What ifs and what nots... Which is why is imperative that we take our advantage of every opportunity that comes our way.

We have 2 more firsts. The first all Islamic team in the finals. The first team that may be declared bankrupt immediately after the finals conclude.

is there any prize for winning ABBL? Like a non promotion bonus....

as far as I know you don't get the million for winning ABBL, you just get the trophy right?

It is promotion money not prize money. Shame to win it all and lose your team. I assume each home game would be getting about 500k so if the final goes to 3 games that is half the money back but a big lose of income then. If I was in the boat I would be listing all my guys to sell before finance update to at least not pay their salaries for the next week. Would of needed to do it last night so guess that window has closed.

Yep that's the wording I was looking for. it sucks that you really get no monetary prize for winning ABBL.
But on the other hand, if teams were getting $1mil or if we take it to $2mil prize money (as each other div is double the last) then you'd have to think that it would be really hard to knock of teams like Whitebeard who keep winning and banking a free $2mil each season.

Yeh but surely a 500k prize would be good. You make more form winning the cup......
