There is always a chance of upset. And also he could potentially see you as an easy beat and decide to TIE you whereas you play CT and you might pull it off.

Having said that, even with the above scenario, the probability of an upset is rare and unlikely to happen.

If I was in your situation, I would tank the game, play TIE and build up enthusiasm for the league games you play.

Yeah i think it depends on how much better the other team is compared to u. A division 3 team would have trouble defeating a division 1 team under most circumstances for example. Whereas they might be able to upset a division 2 team.

well if they r that good i wouldnt bother to try and win. if they r good on one thing and thats how they win just do a play to stop it. if they r even then dont bother. lucky for me i play a bot, should be a easy win for me.

Thats a decision that your going to have to make, you have some options. You can put more effort into the game, and if he takes you to lighlty, i.e. plays his reserves, or takes it easy you may pull off the win. Also, your strategy may come into play, if you pick the right defense against his offense, etc. There is no right answer to that question.

I was able to parlay some lucky matchups, and smart game play into making the round of 128 last year as a newly promoted DIV IV in only my 2nd full time season. Of course, at that point the team I was matched up against was way superior and I choose to take it easy for the game and play my reserves as if it was a scrimmage.
