I think what coachnoodles was saying is that we have a draft for the div 2 and ABBL teams, but if any federation voluntarily wishes to have a div 3 team or div 4 team then that team can automatically be inserted into their federation without a draft.
So teams that want div 3 and div 4 teams will get them without having a draft, and those that want div 2 teams and ABBL teams have to use the draft.

what happens to the div 3 and 4 teams that have no affiliation with a fed?

also i dont see what all the uproar is about... you all still get to play with your mates in a PL just because you aren't on the same team doesn't mean you aren't still playing together.

is it because you want to be in a fed with all your mates where you can talk without others seeing? create a coachnoodles clan fed and you can talk till your hearts content about whatever you like.

i think one of the great things about this league is getting to know all the other managers who you dont already know. when i was drafted to the sharks i knew no-one. but it is great knowing these guys and picking apart their knowledge.

personally i like the draft

that is my opinion anyway

btw naker not directed at you just the others

I don't think you were part of the negociations we had with the Guppies last season, we were trying to make two teams happy but they refused to do anything to make the trade balanced or fair in any way at all. Obviously not everyone felt the same way but that was their official position and the trade was very close to falling through.

Trust me this will all seem like peanuts to you and to everyone when the poop really hits the fan which I think it is about to in a MASSIVE way. I think I will be offline for a few days and all enquiries will need to be directed to Koop.

They go in the draft as well if they are not coming here to join people they know

I wouldn't have joined this comp if i didn't land with Cat Mags Whomp etc it's that simple - we had our own PL prior to this and wanted to keep that going but expand on it with others and that's why cat got us involved here. I would imagine there would be others in the same boat.

As i said earlier i imagine no one will draft the 2 guys we want but if they do i don't want them to back out and screw up the new div for the other 10 or 11 teams.

I see what you mean noodles and I have to agree to a certain degree. I would hate to see guys who are friends get drafted into other Federations due to their team strength or the Federations draft order. There are a lot of teams here that are here because of their mates being here, for the Sharks it is Akuma and I guess that is one of the 2 reasons why he will be a protected pick for us.
I think it is up to the Federation Leader/Captain to determine who will be the best fit for their Federation regardless of team strength. So I can see why there are pro's and con's for the draft.
The draft's purpose is to open up the gates for newer teams that do not currently have any associations with team's in Federations and not so much for team's that already have affiliations. I think this is what each Federation should determine first before going into the draft and drafting Teams.
Well it's all in good fun and I don't think things should be taken too seriously because there is always room for trades for team's not happy with who they are drafted by. I'm sure the team captains would rather trade away an unhappy Team than keep an unhappy Team on board and not contributing.

I would hate to lose Mango and Whompas they seem like great guys so it is good that they are where they wanted to be. However would it really be the end of the world for them if they were in the same league as their friends but not in the same federation? As I keep on saying most other leagues don't even have this structure, in fact I don't know of any that do. So they would be quitting because they are missing out on something that they couldn't get anywhere else if they did quit. It doesn't make sense to me.

You are like a legend in the game up there with C-Cat, mllama and Dire as someone I have looked up to for seasons and aspired to emulate so naturally I want you to be happy as well. However, some people often get very upset about small things and don't see the big picture. On the other hand it is good that all decisions are thoroughly debated.

Ever read the book "Churchill and Hitler"? It isn't actually about war but management styles. Hitler surrounded himself with yes men. Invade Poland? Yes. Holocaust? Great idea. Second front with USSR? Brilliant! We all know how that went. On the other hand Churchill was surrounded by his fiercest critics and had to fight Parliament so any plan he had was thoroughly debated. It is slower, it is smoother but it gets the best results.

However, there is at least one person - not you - that seems to criticise every single thing we ever do and dislike everything. We aren't going to boot him out but if he is so unhappy with every single thing that ever happens I don't know why he doesn't just leave.

The plus factors of this league are
+ being on a team
+ competing against other Aussie teams
+ being mentored by some of the best minds in Aussie BuzzerBeater (in fact with Dire, mllama, C-Cat, Iwen, Naker, Koop, Monkey and You I would say we have most of the best minds)
+ a write up of every game
+ ladders
+ MVPs
+ prizes
+ federations
+ a very passionate community
+ very active forums
+ you can invite your friends to join

The minus
- your friend may be playing against you and not with you - as they would in every other private league anywhere

Honestly if that minus outweighs all the positives I am very surprised.

Great idea. Second front with USSR?

You mean fighting a war on 2 fronts isn't a good idea?

This is in no way about shit canning your ideas. More throwing out what i think is the best way of doing things. That said i'm not the sherriff in these parts so it's not my call and i'll play by whatever rules are set. If they piss me off enough i'll leave but i doubt that would ever happen.

Healthy discussion is a good thing

Just remember i am always right! -JJ
