Of course its easier for EDH with each team that flops and drops the season as another loss, because it gives him no competition, but whats the point of this game? To sit around season after season waiting for the opportune time, or 'your turn' to win the league? No, its to be competitive and win. Has March Madness and the NBA playoffs not inspired anyone who loves Basketball or BB? Seriously, Haha.
I've won as the underdog and I'm sure I could have competed with EDH this season if I had kept my team together. I had so many injuries last year that I started 1-6 and went broke. So if I toughed it out and scrapped to beat him (or the Quakers) this year and promote, what would I get? A spot in the NBBA with a small arena, an old team and little cash to improve with. If I had started the season with another bad spell I would be hemorrhaging money in interest on debt. If I had kept all that salary and not promoted I would be in the same spot I am this season anyway.
I think a lot of us just ended up needing to fix things one way or another and it just happened that like 5 of the top 8 returning teams ended up needing to rebuild. Don't be so sure you won't end up in the same situation in a few seasons. The free wins you're getting right now are helping you so I don't understand why you're whining about tanking.
